Books to Song Lyrics: Delicate

I’ve been enjoying coming up with books that I feel match lyrics to songs. This time I did Taylor Swift’s “Delicate” (I also pretty much only do Taylor Swift songs haha).

The lines I chose for this are the part of the song that goes:

Long night with your hands up in my hair
Echoes of your footsteps on the stairs
Stay here, honey, I don’t want to share
‘Cause I like you

This ain’t for the best
My reputation’s never been worse, so
You must like me for me
Yeah, I want you

We can’t make any promises
Now can we, babe?
But you can make me a drink

Is it cool that I said all that?
Is it chill that you’re in my head?
‘Cause I know that it’s delicate (Delicate)

  • “Stay here, honey, I don’t want to share” – I chose A Court of Mist and Fury when Rhys doesn’t want Aelin to have to go back to Tamlin each time.
  • “My reputation’s never been worse, so you must like me for me” – I chose Crescent City House of Earth and Blood because Bryce has so many people against her and Hunt doesn’t care about what other people think about her.
  • “But you can make me a drink” – I chose The Deal . I don’t want to give any spoilers, but Hannah only trusts Garrett to get her/make her drinks.
  • “Is it cool that I said all that? Is it chill that you’re in my head?” – I chose The Wall of Winnipeg and Me because it reminded me of how Vanessa says what’s on her mind and how she feels to Aiden and after blurting out whatever it is she always says “I’m sorry I’m not sorry”.

I’ll be back with another one of these soon!
