Book Review: Almost Perfect

I was sent an ARC of Almost Perfect by E.F. Dodd a while back, but I was waiting for the holiday season to read it. I just finished it the other day and loved it!

If you’ve read E.F. Dodd’s book Earning It, then you know one of her best friend’s is Vivian or V and her boyfriend is Dave. And if you read Risky Restoration you got a glimpse of how V and Dave met. Well, Almost Perfect shows how V and Dave got together!

So as seen in Risky Restoration, V, Kez, and Rae flew up to Rochester from Charlotte so Kez could crash her ex’s high school reunion. While up there, Kez meets Jackson and one of his friends is Dave. V and Dave hit it off, but there are few things they need to overcome. First, they have to have a long distance relationship. And two, Dave needs to figure out his career. After a bad experience at his last corporate job, he began working as a bartender and has been doing that for last couple years whereas V has always known what she wanted to do with her life and is now a successful pediatric psychiatrist. How will the two make it work?

This seems like a Christmas romance, which it kind of is, but it also begins in the fall and then just ends at Christmas so it’s not centered around the holiday if that’s what you were expecting or looking for.

I love V and Dave and seeing how they got together and following along on their journey to falling in love was so good and made me fall in love with them as a couple!

This is part of the (Not) Looking for Love series, but can be read as a standalone!

Read this if you want a spicy Christmas romcom.
