Book Review: Cupid’s Peak

I always enjoy reading Lee Jacquot’s Holinight novellas so earlier this week I read her Valentine’s day one Cupid’s Peak.

The novella follows Mia and Eli. Mia is a bit of an introverted homebody and when her twin sister, who is more outgoing, sets her up with a blind date at a fancy restaurant at a luxurious ski resort for Valentine’s Day, she decides to get out of her comfort zone and go. Little does she know the date is with the guy she had a major crush on back in high school, Eli. Eli is a professional hockey player now and very famous and popular. Back in high school, they bonded over their love of 80s movies and Mia tutored Eli in math. Back then they both thought that maybe the other also liked them but they were both too nervous to act on their feelings. Fast forward and they’re on a Valentine’s Day date and snowed in at the resort. They both admit to having had crushes on each other back when they were teens. Now to pass the time while they’re snowed in and to help Mia loosen up, the decide to play truth or dare.

This was a really fun and spicy novella. I loved watching Mia and Eli reconnect and get to know each other as adults plus what they kept from each other (their true feelings) from when they were younger.

Read this if you want a spicy, second chance romance, Valentine’s novella.
