Books to “Midnight Rain” Lyrics
Happy Super Bowl Sunday! I’m not invested in either team today nor am I doing a Super Bowl pool this year so I don’t really care about who wins, but I along with millions of others are interested to see if Taylor Swift attends after flying home from her shows in Japan!
Taylor announced last week that she has a new album coming out in April. In the meantime, I’m still listening to all her other music including “Midnight Rain” from her “Midnights” album. It’s been a long time since I’ve done one of these kinds of posts where I share books that go with lyrics so I thought I’d pick out a few books that match some lyrics to this song.

The lyrics I used were:
My boy was a montage
A slow-motion, love potion
Jumping off things in the ocean
I broke his heart ’cause he was nice
He was sunshine, I was midnight rain
He wanted it comfortable
I wanted that pain
- “A slow-motion, love potion” – The Ex Hex – She puts a curse on her ex.
- “Jumping off things in the ocean” – Ricochet – Daisy runs off and goes cliff diving.
- “I broke his heart cause he was nice” – Same Time Next Year – He falls first and hard and she is very distant.
- “He was sunshine, I was midnight rain” – Window Shopping – Reverse grumpy sunshine
- “He wanted it comfortable I wanted that pain” – House of Flame and Shadow – Hunt is not sure he is up for another war and Bryce feels strongly that they have no choice.
If you’ve read any of these books do you think they match the lyrics?
