Book Review: A Touch of Poison
Over the past week I read the second book in the Shadows of the Tenebris Court series by Clare Sager, A Touch of Poison.

The novel picks up shortly after the ending of the first book, A Kiss of Iron. I don’t want to give too much away and spoil the book for anyone so I’ll keep this review short. The novel opens with Kat and Bastian being back in Tenebris and Kat has not woken up yet after being poisoned. She awakes in the first chapter or two and learns that all the magic that was used to save her has saved her life, but also left some side effects. Her touch is poisonous and the poison that is still living in her will kill her unless she gets a daily antidote. The antidote? Bastian’s touch. They must touch once a day until a cure can be found. This also means he is the only one she can touch without killing him.
While Kat adjusts to her new normal, learns to control her poison/magic, and waits for a cure, Bastian is also dealing with a seemingly growing group of rebels trying to bring down the dawn and dusk courts.
I loved this book and being reunited with Kat, Bastian, and their friends! The angst between Kat and Bastian is so good, especially after they both felt betrayed by the other at the end of book 1. But, I loved that through the angst, they were still honest about their feelings for each other. The cliffhanger has me dying to read book 3, which comes out this summer!
Also, one of the dawn princes – Sepher and his fiancée, Zita – make appearances in the book. I know they are the main characters in Sager’s Slaying the Shifter Prince from the Mortal Enemies to Monster Lovers series, which I do own so I need to read it!
