Jeronimos Monastery & Belem Tower

When my family and I were compiling a list of things we wanted to do/see/eat in Portugal one of my picks was Jeronimos Monastery after seeing photos of it on social media. The ticket package we got for it included Belem Tower which is down the road from the Monastery. I think it took us about 20 minutes to walk to the tower from the Monastery.

The monastery is massive, beautiful, and impressive. It took from 1501-1601 to build! I think Belem Tower was built in 1515 if I remember correctly and was used to defend Lisbon/Portugal from invaders from the river.

These sights were so worth the visit!
