Book Review: Murder by Milkshake
I was sent a copy of Murder by Milkshake by Elizabeth Maria Naranjo and today it’s my turn for the book tour.

The novel is a cozy YA mystery and this book is the start in a new series called Sweet Dreams Mysteries. The novel follows Genevieve Winterland, a young woman and senior in high school. She loves her small town and working in her family’s ice cream shop. Her best friend, Brandon, loves the town too and when he’s not hanging out with Genevieve or playing video games, he’s working at his family’s bookstore across from Genevieve’s ice cream shop.
When her favorite teacher, Ms. Love, stops showing up to work the day after she overheard Mrs. Pierce, a very mean and unpleasant substitute teacher, threaten her to the point of tears, Genevieve is determined to find out what happened. Her sleuthing leads to more questions and the uncovering of secrets.
I really enjoyed this book and loved Genevieve. Her amateur investigating was fun to follow and none of it was too outlandish. Her friendship with Brandon was fun to see too and I wonder if something more will come of them in future books.
The story was really engaging and kept me reading to find out what would happen next! The only downside to the book was that it kept making me want ice cream!
