Book Review: The Fall of Bradley Reed
This week I read the third book in the Seasons of Revenge series by Morgan Elizabeth, The Fall of Bradley Reed. This one follows Olivia Anderson who we were introduced to in Cruel Summer as Zach’s 20-something year old daughter.

This romcom follows Olivia and Andre Valenti. When the novel begins, it’s Olivia’s wedding day to her fiancé, Bradley Reed. 10 minutes before she’s set to walk down the aisle, he texts her breaking it off. It doesn’t take Livi long to realize she never really loved him and was only with him because her mother wanted her to marry someone from an equally wealthy family and because the publicity looked good for her reality tv star life. But her feelings for Bradley, or lack thereof, doesn’t mean she isn’t mad he put her through all this and she wants revenge.
Andre is an FBI agent specializing in white collar crimes. He’s been secretly surveilling Bradley and his girlfriend, Olivia, for a year. Bradley’s been embezzling money from his company and Andre is building a case against him. The problem is after surveilling Livi for so long he knows she’s innocent, but Andre has put all the secret accounts in her name to keep his hands clean. Andre is determined to bring Bradley down and clear Livi’s name even though he doesn’t know her. But, that’s about to change when he sees she’s doing some internet searches on revenge ideas such as how to cut brake lines. Now he has to intervene without blowing his cover. Things only get more complicated when the two are attracted to one another and have to fake date to save Livi from the paparazzi.
I really enjoyed this book and the storyline. I really liked Livi, but loved Andre so much. He was the perfect book boyfriend and sounded so hot! Some parts, especially in the first half, felt really repetitive so it made parts drag a bit for me. My only other critique is that Morgan Elizabeth does this weird thing when she write dialogue and I can’t explain it without giving a direct example, but it’s odd and makes it hard at times to follow who is saying what. I’ve noticed she does this since I read my first book by her, ‘Tis the Season for Revenge.
I liked the little parts from the characters in the previous books in the series, but would’ve liked a little more especially since Olivia is so close with her dad and Cami. I get it though – the focus should be on Olivia and Andre and not the other characters. Overall I really liked the book.
Read this if you want a spicy revenge romcom with the fake dating trope.
