Book Review: Love Unwritten

I truly believe that Lauren Asher’s books get better and better. I really liked her Dreamland Billionaire series, but I think her Lakefront Billionaire series is far better written. The newest book in the series is Love Unwritten and I loved it.

The novel follows Rafael Lopez and Ellie Sinclair. We met both characters in Love Redesigned since Rafael is Julian’s cousin and Ellie is Rafael’s nanny for his son, Nico. Nico has a genetic disorder that leaves him with very poor vision and most likely will be legally blind in the next 10 years or so. Ellie has thought that Rafa is grumpy and not very friendly for the past 8 months that she’s been working for him as a live-in nanny. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t find him attractive. In fact, she has had a big crush on him since high school. However, life events have left Rafa guarded. When Rafael begins to feel a little more comfortable around her and lets his guard down a tiny bit, the two’s chemistry is off the charts. Ellie is also a little guarded due to betrayals in her past and some childhood traumas that have left her insecure. Can the two get past their own past traumas and insecurities to give in to their love for one another and build a life together?

I loved this book so much. Both Rafa and Ellie were such good characters and their slow burn was so good. I really appreciated the fact that there wasn’t a big age gap in this book like is so common with single dad and/or the nanny trope. Rafa is only a few years older than Ellie as he was a senior in high school when Ellie was a freshman and crushing on him from afar. Also, Nico was so adorable! The parts that really got me emotional and teary were actually Nico scenes because him slowly losing his eyesight is so heartbreaking. I loved the family unit they slowly created. Rafa and Ellie were perfect together and helped each other move past their pasts.

Read this if you want a spicy single dad/nanny romance.
