NYC Girls’ Weekend

I spent the weekend in New York City with my cousin for a girl’s weekend. She had planned to fly up to help me move into my new place, but since that’s been pushed back yet again we decided to spend the weekend in the city.

On Saturday after taking the train in we walked to the hotel which was really tiring with my heavy duffle bag! The hotel was doing a collab with Wicked and had some Wicked decor in the lobby. After dropping our bags off, we walked to Rockefeller for lunch (tacos from Puya Tacos) and a visit to FAO Schwarz to see what Jellycats we could find. The Jellycat Diner line was ridiculously long. We also saw that scaffolding was surrounding the tree at Rockefeller as they continue to decorate it. We walked up 5th to see some more Christmas decor. We planned to go to The Plaza to see all the decorations inside, but they aren’t letting non-guests in until after the holidays. So we went to Bibble & Sip for some sweet treats.

That evening we went to The Lamb’s Club for dinner and then saw Sunset Blvd. on Broadway. I’m not a Nicole Scherzinger fan, but the performances were good. The show overall really creeped me out though!

On Sunday we woke up early to head uptown and get gluten free bagels from Modern Bread & Bagel. Their bagels taste just like regular bagels. We brought our bagel breakfast sandwiches to the steps of The Met to eat. Then we went back to FAO Schwarz to stand in line before they opened to try to get the special edition Jellycats through the diner experience, but after an hour we didn’t move far in the line and one of the workers said it would be another 2 hours. Since we had a lunch reservation we decided to just get the ones off the shelves we still wanted and head to lunch.

Lunch was at the new Din Tai Fung that opened in the city and was delicious. To walk off all the food we went back down to Macy’s to see their indoor holiday market. The outdoor portion opens later in the month I think. After a few more stops like to the Starbucks Reserve we walked back to the hotel to pick up our bags and head home!
