Book Review: The Christmas Fix

My first Christmas read is complete – The Christmas Fix by Lucy Score. I’m a big Lucy Score fan and love that despite having read a good number of her books I still have quite a few of her backlist to read. I made a mental note last year to read The Christmas Fix this holiday season so naturally it was the first on my list this year.

The novel follows Catalina “Cat” King and Noah Yates. Cat and her twin brother, Gannon, (he has his own book that I need to read!) run their family’s construction business and she has become a reality star and home renovation expert. When a devastating hurricane hits the town of Merry, Connecticut, Cat immediately goes up there worried about a family she met and became good friends with through her show. Half the town suffered major damage and it’s looking like the town will not be able to hold their annual Christmas Festival which brings in a lot of the annual income for the small businesses of the town. Cat convinces her network to let her film a holiday special in Merry so that the town can get back on its feet quickly and the network will pay for all the expenses. The only problem? Noah is the town manager and absolutely does not want Cat and her tv crew in his town. He thinks Cat is just a tv star and wants to capitalize on the hardships of his town and its citizens.

But, the town (including Noah’s pre-teen daughter, Sarah who is a huge fan) is excited to have Cat, her crew, and all of her help in Merry so Noah begrudgingly lets them do their thing to help get the town ready for Christmas.

Noah thinks Cat is a reality star that doesn’t care about the people of Merry and Cat thinks Noah is a uptight jerk who underestimates her. As the two work closely together through the weeks leading up to Christmas, the two get to really know one another and realize how they misjudged each other. And if they were attracted to one another when they disliked each other what’s going to happen when they actually get along?

I loved this book! I loved Noah and Cat so much. This was a really good enemies to lovers with a strong fmc and mmc. I could see both of their points of view and loved the two of them together. Sarah was adorable too and I loved that she was a huge supporter of the two of them getting together.

This book comes after Gannon’s book, so I need to go back and read his story about how he got together with Paige.

Read this if you want a spicy Christmas romcom with the enemies to lovers and single dad tropes.
