Ashley Poston Quotes

I’ve read all of Ashley Poston’s adult romance books. I know she started as a YA author, but I haven’t read her YA books. But, I have read her 3 published adult books and loved all of them. And each one, without fail, always has multiple quotes that have me in tears. I picked out one quote per book to share and give you a glimpse into why her books make me emotional!

The Dead Romantics – “You don’t ever lose the sadness, but you learn to love it because it becomes a part of you, and bit by bit, it fades. And eventually, you’ll pick yourself back up and you’ll find that you’re okay. That you’re going to be okay. An eventually, it will be true.”

The Seven Year Slip – “Sometimes the people you loved left you halfway through a story. Sometimes they left you without a goodbye. And, sometimes, they stayed around in little ways. In the memory of a musical. In the smell of their perfume. In the sound of the rain, and the itch for adventure, and the yearning for that liminal space between one airport terminal and the next. I hated her for leaving, and I loved her for staying as long as she could. And I would never wish this pain on anyone.”

A Novel Love Story – “And he would never stop missing her, because that was what love was in the end – breaking off a piece of yourself that you’d never get back. There were people who tried to fill that hole with work, and there were people like me who tried to fill it with stories; people filled it with whatever could fit.”

That quote from The Seven Year Slip just kills me every time I read it! If you haven’t checked out these books, I highly recommend them! They’re technically paranormal romance, but they’re not too out there. They’re more magical realism than paranormal. They are all beautiful books and I wish I could read them again for the first time.
