Book Review: The Cinnamon Spice Inn

I’m back with another cozy romcom with fall vibes! I was sent a copy of The Cinnamon Spice Inn by Harper Graham and I loved this small town romance.

The novel follows Madison and Zach. Madison lives in New York City where her career as a food writer is really taking off. One day she gets an anonymous letter saying she needs to go home to her small, midwestern town because her dad and their family inn need help. Madison immediately goes home to her small hometown and The Cinnamon Spice Inn. To her surprise, the inn does indeed need work and more guests. On the first night she’s back a big storm blows through and the iconic maple tree next to the inn falls on the house. But her dad assures her it’s not a big deal – the contractor who is already going to fix up the house can fix the storm damage too. Who is the contractor? It’s Zach, Madison’s childhood best friend and ex-boyfriend whom she hasn’t seen in years and is one of the reasons she hardly comes home to visit.

Madison and Zach were so in love with each other, but haven’t seen or spoken to each other in years. Both have different ideas of what happened that ended their relationship, but haven’t really spoken to get past anything. Now that they’re going to be working together until the inn is back up and running, will they be able to work past their hurt feelings? And moreover, will they fall back in love?

This was a really cute read. I loved Zach and Madison’s story, their small town, and all the side characters. It had the best fall vibes and made me want to live there with their town events and festivals. I did get a little frustrated with Madison at times though because she kept making the same mistakes with keeping secrets and not allowing Zach to help her work things out. I could see how that would upset Zach time and time again. Honestly, I think he forgave her a little too quickly! But, overall, I did really like the two of them.

I believe this is going to be a series so I can’t wait to read more love stories about the other characters and revisit this adorable town!
