The Folklore of Forever: Gilda Appreciation

Do you love secondary and tertiary characters as much as I do? I especially love when a side character is hilarious and provides some comic relief. in Sarah Hogle’s Moonville series there is an old woman in town who hilarious roasts people. There are some great examples in the second book, The Folklore of Forever.

During one part of the book when they’re doing an auction in town she says, “Up next is Alex King. You might be surprised to see him with a toolbox, since he told us before he left for college that he wanted to be a doctor. Instead, he has decided to be a roofer. There are already hundreds of roofs in Moonvile, but only three doctors. Who am I to judge? Surely, God will.”

She’s iconic! I’m hoping Sarah Hogle announces the next book soon!
