What To Do When Your Hair Is Affecting Your Confidence

If your hair is affecting your confidence, you don’t always have to suffer in silence. In fact, there’s usually quite a lot you can do about this particular aspect of your appearance, more so than most.

If you’re in this position and unsure what to do about your hair, this post is for you. Here, we look at some of the things you can do when your hair is affecting your confidence.

Don’t Wait For Perfect Hair

Perhaps the most direct way to tackle a lack of hair-related confidence is to commit to accepting it how it is right now. Many people get into the trap of waiting for perfect hair but that moment never seems to arrive.

Of course, this approach is completely psychological, but it can have real effects. You may notice, for instance, that your hair looks better the less you worry about it.

Go To An Understanding Stylist

The next thing you want to do is go to an understanding stylist. You need to work with someone who really gets your hair type and knows how to fix the problems you face with it.

These stylists are the best because they can tell you the most flattering color or style for your face shape. They can also advise on things like frizziness and knots. Ultimately, they can tell you how to make more days into “good hair days.”

Fix Missing Hair

Another thing you can do these days is fix your missing hair. Getting a FUE hair transplant replaces one follicle at a time, giving you back full scalp coverage.

This is a major intervention, so you don’t need to just jump in straight away. However, it can be a good permanent solution that makes a big difference in your daily confidence levels.

Master A Five-Minute Style That Works

You could also look at mastering a five-minute style that really works for your face shape and hair type. Instead of spending hours in front of the mirror every morning, you can get into a routine with a style that just works.

One way to do that is with a side-part. You could also go for a short crop or ask your stylist to do 90% of the work for you.

Deal With Greasiness

Another approach is to simply fix the problem. If the issue is greasiness, the solution is usually pretty simple: just use sulfate-free shampoos more often and special conditioners that avoid adding extra weight.

If the problem is frizziness, you can now get special products that tame this and deal with your hair’s high porosity.

You could even upgrade your products and spend a little extra money to see if they make a difference. Superior formulations are often all you need.

Buy A Hat

Finally, if you’re transitioning between hairstyles and don’t feel confident at all, then buying a hat can be a good way to get around the issue. These you can wear without apology and keep everything contained until you’re ready to show it off to the world.
