January 2026 Favorite Reads

I didn’t read as many books in January as I hoped to get through. Some of the books I read just took me longer to get through than anticipated. January was also a really busy month for me which affected my reading in two ways – 1) I was obviously busy so had less time to read and 2) Because I was so busy when I did have time I often fell asleep while reading. I was hoping to have Wild Reverence done in time for it to count as a January read, but I still have about 150 pages left to it so I’m hoping to finish it by tonight or tomorrow.

Anyway, I did read 8 books this month and I liked them all. 5 of the 8 books I loved, which is most of them and I wish I could narrow it down further but I loved these books on a pretty equal basis. There wasn’t one that really stood out to me a whole lot more than the others. It was actually really hard for me to pick a top favorite for the month because of this, but after a lot of thought, one just edged out the others.

Of the 8 books I completed in January, my favorites were:

• Fake Skating
• The Defender
• The Bodyguard Affair
• In Your Dreams
• Tangled Like Us

And then of these 5 books the one I ended up choosing as my top favorite in the end was…

In Your Dreams by Sarah Adams! Madison and James will always have a special place in my heart.
