Half City – When the Demon Hunter & Demon Go on a Date

I love fantasy romance or romantasy books and as much as I love the high stakes and adventure and drama, I also love when there’s a little bit of comic relief to help break up all the ups and downs and anxiety inducing events. In Kate Golden’s Half City, Viv is a demon hunter at Harker Academy and her love interest, Reid, is a demon and instructor at the academy. Since their lives are anything but normal, when they pretend to be “regular” people on a date it provided a funny, cute, and lighthearted moment.

Reid – “Where’s your attempt at human photographer?”
Viv – “Oh, I’m on it,’ I tell him, pulling my hair back into a low bun. ‘There. Classic photographer look.”
Reid – “Perfect. Ready? Reid Graveheart. Planetarium expert. This is my planetarium.”
Viv – “Viv Abbott. I’m a photographer. I’ve never stabbed anything to death before.”
Reid – “That’s actually what I look for in the photographers I date.”
