    Arrows & Boots

Things have been a little busy and crazy lately, but a fresh look and new boots is just what I needed! If you read my recent fashion inspiration post, I’m trying to have more fun with layers. Tank Top: Forever21 Tee: Mudd – Basic V-Neck Tee (Egret Arrow) via Kohls Cardigan: Chadwicks Pants: Uniqlo Boot Socks: American Eagle Boots: Steve Madden I love the arrows on this t-shirt. I think it’s fun and adorable and the colors on it are muted and perfect for fall/winter. The boots are a recent purchase from this past weekend and I love the cognac color. They were on sale too which makes them even better! You know a girl’s…

    Hunter [Green] Boots

Check out my new boots! These Hunter Boots were an item that I wished for and received for Christmas. The boots (not these specifically, but the brand in general) have been on my radar for quite some time, but I had a pair of rain boots already and didn’t feel I needed another pair. My last pair lasted years, black with multi-colored polka dots and pink trim. Actually, I have a picture of them here from when I tried to go apple picking. They were from Target and entirely too big for me. I ordered them online (it was one of those online only products) before a trip to London with friends back…

    Green & Gold

For years, I shied away from yellow gold and preferred white gold heaps more than yellow. In recent years, while I still love the seamless, classy look of white gold, I’ve begun to really like yellow gold. Yellow gold is perfect for the holiday season with it’s bright shine and it looks so festive. For Christmas yesterday, I wore a bright green cashmere sweater that I got for Christmas. So soft! Uniqlo jeggings that I already owned, off-white boot socks with gold threads and black boots. (Sorry the 2nd photo is a little blurry! I kept it though because I liked the mirror effect) Top: Charter Club via Macy’s (Christmas gift)…

    Asymmetrical Tribal Print Cardigan

I’ve had this asymmetrical tribal print cardigan for 2 years now and I feel like I’ve been seeing sweaters like it everywhere lately. Over the weekend, I wore this while I went Christmas shopping and I swear I saw so many similar sweaters on the racks. I love tribal print and big cardigans are always welcome in the winter. I think it’s so interesting that I’ve had this sweater for 2 years — I actually got it as a Christmas present 2 years ago, and suddenly it’s everywhere! So first, I need to show these cute leggings. They are so comfortable and since so many of my leggings happen to be…

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate! It’s hard for me to believe that it’s already Thanksgiving (and the day is almost over at that) time. Time really does fly. As always, I’m thankful for my family and friends near and far and all the wonderful things in my life. This year, as it is my first year of blogging, I am also grateful for all of you! All of the people who take the time to read my posts and visit my little corner of the Internet from all over the country and even all around the world – you really are amazing! It means so much to me and…

    Embellished Sweatshirt

Embellished sweaters or sweatshirts are very on trend this season and I love it! I am a huge fan of mixing style with comfort and embellished sweat shirts are the epitome of this. I’ve seen so many that I’ve loved either in stores, while online window shopping, or on blog posts. I’ve even bought a few myself. Yesterday (or today as I’m typing this a few hours in advance) was an early dismissal day at work before Thanksgiving break. Since it’s technically our last day of work for the week I was able to dress down. I also donated money to a fundraiser the seniors were running for Mustache Movember…

    Floral Stitching

The weather has turned from cool, autumn days to pretty chilly seemingly overnight. To top it off the past two days have been windy and a little rainy. Therefore, my color palette hasn’t been the brightest as of late. This could also be affected by the fact that I’ve been so tired lately! I wore this grey 3/4 sleeve top yesterday with dark jean skinnies and boots. The top has white floral stitching on the front. The brightness of the white stands out perfectly against the blue-ish grey of the material. The jeans look almost black in these pictures, but they are actually a very dark blue denim so my…

    Color Block Skirt OOTD

I love colorblock pieces and think it gives any regular items of clothing a little something extra. You can’t go wrong with color blocking, unless it looks like a hodge podge of all different things sewn together. I wore this black and grey colorblock skirt to work the other day. It’s a double-knit ponte skirt so it stretches and holds shape. The material is not thing by any means – I know sometimes when we think stretchy, we think thin. It is a thick, good quality, double knit material.   Cardigan: Forever 21 Top: Express Skirt: Colorblock Ponte Pencil Skirt via Loft Boots: Steve Madden via DSW Watch: Anne Klein I chose to not…

Layers & Notched Stripe Skirt OOTD

Picking out what I’m going to wear the next day is something I enjoy doing (most of the time). I rarely hate what I’ve decided to wear and while of course not every day is a stand-out outfit there are some days where I am really pleased with the way my outfit came together. I had one of those days this week. I had an idea in my head of what I wanted to wear. I knew I wanted to wear this notched stripe elastic waist skirt and boots. Next, I was thinking of what top to wear with it. I actually thought of wearing a bright, solid color top, but…
