Why The Finishing Touches Matter So Much
Image by Pezibear from Pixabay No one wants a half-done job; no one even wants an almost finished job. Attention to detail is key, and when you’re doing any project, you should want to do it right and see it through to the end, and this is why the finishing touches matter so much. When renovating your home, finishing touches are possibly even more important; your home is where you live, it’s where you spend most of your time, it needs to keep you safe, keep you warm and make you happy. If you were to have a new roof, and you didn’t put the final finishing touches to it…

Happy Thanksgiving + Thanksgiving Tablescape Goals
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope all my readers who celebrate have a wonderful day filled with time with loved ones and good food! The above photo is from my buffet table. I showed off my Happy Harvest sign in this post (here). Since that post I added these little glass gourds that my mom got for me. So cute! For the past 2 years I have shared some Thanksgiving tablescape goals/inspiration on here. I love looking at tablescape inspo. They’re all so pretty and fit different styles. I’ve decided to round up a few new ones I found this year. I found all of these photos from Pinterest. I love how…

Twilight Blue Writing Desk
I’m back with another home decor/furniture post. A desk wasn’t at the top of my list for furniture to get, but after the essentials that I needed to buy new (dining table, bedroom furniture, coffee table, kitchen cart, entry way table etc.) a desk was next on the list. A desk wasn’t something I needed urgently as I mostly work from my laptop on the couch and if I need to really sit I can sit at the dining table. I knew I needed one eventually so that I could have somewhere to put my cable modem, router, and a printer (when I buy one). So when I got back…

Gingerbread Dreams
I’m not an expert in gingerbread houses at all. I think in the few times I’ve ever made one they’ve been pretty basic and sloppy looking. But, that doesn’t stop me from looking in awe at all the pretty creations other people and professionals make! Last year, I did a holiday post showing off some gorgeous Mannequin Christmas Trees so this year I thought I’d round up some beautiful gingerbread house creations I found on the internet. Los Angeles Magazine shared this photo of a Beverly Wilshire Hotel Gingerbread House. It’s huge and so detailed! The next few I rounded up from Country Living. How intricate is this stone house? I kinda…

Thanksgiving Table Setting Goals
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope all my American readers both here and abroad have a wonderful day celebrating with family and friends. For today’s post, I’ve decided to talk about beautiful Thanksgiving table settings or tablescapes. I have always loved seeing pictures of gorgeous table settings, especially for the holidays. The meticulous planning, color schemes, china, centerpieces, etc. is always spot on in these photos. I love all different looks and themes as well – rustic, modern, traditional, bohemian and the list goes on. What prompted this post is I received a holiday catalog from Williams-Sonoma and the front cover had a beautiful Thanksgiving dinner table and I thought to myself, “I…

Decorating with Ornaments (Outdoors)
About a week ago I wrote a post about decorating with ornaments in ways other than on your Christmas tree by sharing pictures of how I put ornaments in a vase and made a really pretty table display out of it. Well, today I’m showing you how to use ornaments outside the house to decorate. First up, these aren’t technically ornaments, but they are round balls used to decorate so what else am I going to call them? I got these light-up hanging ball decorations at Costco. At first, I wasn’t sure how I was going to use them, but I love what I ended up doing with them. I…
