    May 2020 Favorites

Well if 2020 hasn’t already been bad enough, May has just been another dumpster fire! Things are absolutely crazy right now. We’re still getting through the pandemic and the country is literally and figuratively on fire. I hope you are all staying safe through all of these hard times. For lighter new, I have a round-up of things I loved in May. First, did you watch the first season of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist? I loved the show and I’m waiting to hear if it’s picked up for a 2nd season on NBC. I hope so! During the season finale, the cast sang “American Pie” and I was obsessed with their rendition…

    Quarantine Binging #2

A few weeks ago I shared the tv shows I’d been binge watching during quarantine. Well, I’m already back with more shows (and 1 movie) that I’ve finished since then. So let’s get to it! The Last Kingdom I’ve written about this Netflix show in year’s past and season 4 recently dropped. I watched the season over the course of a week or so. I didn’t want to rush through it and I was pretty busy at the time with work so I was only watching 1-2 episodes a night. I love this show and if you’re unfamiliar, it follows main character Uhtred in England in the like 800-900s. He…

    April 2020 Favorites

Another month over, can you believe it? I can’t believe we’ve been in quarantine for about 6 weeks already. Sometimes it feels like the time has gone by really fast and other times it feels like forever. It is hard to believe that the whole month of April has gone by though. For this month’s favorites, I have a lot of tv related things since I’m watching a lot more these days. First, I was obsessed with the Food Network Tournament of Champions. It was so fun to watch! It’s like March Madness but with famous chefs.   Next, I have been watching Hawaii Five-O for the past 10 years and early…

    What I’ve Been Binge Watching

So with the extra time at home I’ve gotten to watch a lot of tv and catch up on things I didn’t have time for before. I’m sure a lot of you are in the same boat as me. I thought I would share what I’ve been binge watching the past two weeks. I’m just sharing 4 today. The first two are shows I’ve watched for years, but fell behind on in the past 1-2 years so I’m catching up. Blue Bloods – I’ve been watching this show on CBS since it started like 9 or 10 years ago but I fell behind last season and never caught up. So…

    February 2020 Favorites

I saw a meme somewhere yesterday that said something like January was 48 years long and February was 2 seconds and I think it’s so true! January felt like it dragged on and on and I always think the months go by in the blink of an eye so January was strange for sure. I can’t believe February is about to be over and it normally would be except for the fact that it’s a leap year! So let’s get in to my February favorites! First up, my Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Throw. I have been talking about this for a month. It’s my first Barefoot Dreams piece and I’m in love. I…

    Leap Year

Happy Leap Day! When I thought about Leap Day and Leap Year, it made me think of the Amy Adams and Matthew Goode movie Leap Year. I recently saw it on a list of bad movies and I remember thinking “hey I like that movie!” So I rewatched it the other night. And it’s actually not that great! It’s not terrible, but definitely not the best rom-com out there. Amy Adams is kind of annoying in the movie, but it got me thinking about other things I love Matthew Goode in. Chasing Liberty Similar to Leap Year in that Matthew Goode is trying to help the female protagonist get to her destination…

    January 2020 Favorites

Normally, I start off my monthly favorites posts talking about how I can’t believe it’s the end of a month. However, this month has felt pretty long. Not that I’m rushing time, but seriously it feels like Christmas was a long, long time ago. Anyone else feel the same? I have a few favorites from this month so let’s get to it! First, I watched the documentary movie on Linda Ronstadt called “Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice” and really liked it. I listened to a lot of Linda Ronstadt growing up because my parents would play her music in the car all the time. The movie talked about…

Nai-Ni Chen Chinese New Year Celebration

As many of you know, this past Saturday was Chinese New Year or Lunar New Year. It’s now the year of the Golden Rat. My family and I usually do a low key celebration. My mom makes different foods in the days leading up to the holiday and we always have dinner on the day of at my grandpa’s house. Then, next weekend we’ll have a get together with some more extended family. This year I got to also attend a New Year’s dance performance/celebration at NJPAC. Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company puts on a show every year at the performing arts center and I was lucky enough to be offered…

    December 2019 Favorites

Every month seems to fly by and I pretty much always say that, but I can’t believe we’re at the last day of 2019! Not just the last day of December, but the last day of the year and decade. It’s so crazy to think about. A lot has changed in the past 10 years and some things have stayed the same. The way 2019 started is really different from the way 2019 is ending. This year I moved out of my townhouse that I had bought with my brother and bought a condo of my own. Spent almost 3 months getting it renovated and just recently moved in. It’s…

Hot Tub Accessories for An Epic Spa Party With Friends

After your best friend convinced you about the health benefits of hot tub soaks, you finally got a spacious hot tub set up in your patio. Then you tested it. Sadly, soaking up is only half the fun without the rest of the gang. Perhaps it’s time to organize your very first hot tub party. But how do you pull off one? If you’ve organized a party before, this shouldn’t be much different. Just think up a cool theme, get your food and refreshments menu ready, and prepare some entertainment. Since your guests will be half dipped in water for a good portion of your party, you want to prepare interesting splash-friendly activities…
