October 2021 Favorites

October felt long and short at the same time. I can’t believe it’s already November, but at the same time there are some things that happened in October that feel like they happened ages ago.

I’ve rounded up a few of the things I loved this month to share with you.

First up, I helped my best friend with decorations for a party she was having for her new baby. She was set on us making a balloon arch even though neither of us had made one before and I’ve heard from a few people before that it’s pretty tiring/difficult. But, we did it and it turned out so good!

Next, I’ve worn my white amulet booties a few times this month and you’ve seen them on here before. I love them. They’re so pretty and comfortable!

Moving onto food favorites this month, I loved this chopped salad kit I got from the supermarket. Normally, I don’t buy the salad kits because I haven’t liked them in the past, but I decided to try this one out. It is made up of red and green cabbage, green leaf lettuce, carrots, and green onion. It also came with dried cranberries and pumpkin seeds and a greek yogurt poppyseed dressing, but I didn’t use the dressing. Usually, whenever I open a bag of salad/lettuce it browns after a day or two. But this actually stayed fresh for days and I was able to use it for multiple meals.

My next favorite is an oldie but a goodie. I had a cookie one day recently and thought how much it reminded me of the Petit Ecolier Cookies so I bought them at the store and I remembered how much I love them. They’re so good. I’ve been enjoying them as a little snack!

The new season of Dancing with the Stars started earlier in the fall and two weeks ago they did a Grease night. Jojo Siwa has been a surprise favorite of mine and her dance with Jenna to the “Sandra Dee (reprise)” was beautiful. It got me a little emotional honestly!

Finally, my last favorite is It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover. I’ve been hearing about Colleen Hoover for years but this is my first book by her. I read it with my book club with former students and I loved it. The novel follows Lily, a young woman who has just opened a floral shop. She had a difficult childhood with an abusive father and years later with a new business she meets Ryle, a neurosurgeon resident. He’s good looking, successful, and they begin to fall in love. Lily’s life is finally coming together, but she thinks back to her past and how it may be influencing her present. She also thinks back to her first love, Atlas. After not seeing Atlas since she was 16, he reappears in her life and she must decide what to do next with her life and if history is meant to repeat itself. The book was really good and I want to read more by her, but I’ve heard her books are all so heart wrenching so I don’t know if I can handle it!

That wraps up my October favorites!
