    Rock Gem Necklace

Back at Christmas, I went by my friend’s family’s house to drop off holiday treats for his parents. They had gobbled up what I had given them the week earlier and since I had made more cookies and things I went to bring them some more. As a thank you, my friend and his sister, who I’m also friends with, gave me a little gift bag which had fuzzy socks (a winter essential) and a long necklace with rock gems. The necklace is a fun piece to add to any casual look. Necklace: Gifted | Sweater: LOFT | Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs via Macy’s This rock gem necklace added a fun…

    Alex & Ani Compass Necklace

I love when pieces of jewelry carry some significance. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m not going to pass up a piece that’s pretty, but I love when things have some meaning. Not just meaningful in that it reminds me of something or was given to me by someone, but also when it’s crafted with something symbolic in mind. That’s why I’m so happy I picked up the Alex & Ani Compass Necklace. Alex & Ani are mostly known for their bracelets and although I have a few of their bracelets myself and I do love them I wanted to try out one of their other jewelry offerings. When…

    Floral Charm Necklace

Adding jewelry can dress up a basic outfit. Said jewelry doesn’t have to be fancy or bold –  It can be simple and extremely affordable. I wore this flower charm necklace from Forever 21 to add something to my work look. This necklace is really long so you could wear it in a really long single strand or double it up like I did for a more practical work look. The necklace like this one ups the look a little bit and like I said it doesn’t have to be anything fancy or blingy. There’s nothing blingy about this particular necklace. It is a strand of medium and small sized gold…

    Glitzy Ball Pendant

Sometimes the simplest thing can actually change or enhance an entire look. For example, a seemingly simple or far from fancy accessory or piece of jewelry can sometimes actually do a lot more for an outfit than we may give credit considering its size. This glitzy, glittery, spherical pendant is exactly one of those underestimated items. The ball pendant sits on a long chain and has sparkly crystals encrusted on it to give it that extra glam touch. I got this necklace on sale at the Banana Republic Factory Store during the summer and it’s such a fun piece. I love that it’s not elaborate or too busy, which in my opinion…

    Cast Collar Necklace

Sometimes you just feel like wearing something simple and/or color neutral allowing even the simplest jewelry to enhance your look. That was the case a few weeks ago when I wore this two toned grey, drawstring dress to work. I paired it with LOFT’s Cast Collar Necklace, which is a multi-colored gem necklace. This necklace is the perfect example of a non-elaborate jewelry piece enhancing an outfit. The dress, while cute and comfortable, has nothing too dressy or interesting about it. Since it is a dark color, it instantly makes it seem more dressy for work, but in general, there’s not a lot going on in the outfit. What I love…

    Multi-Layer Feather Drop Necklace

My taste in jewelry is usually simple and clean cut, but occasionally I like to wear items that are more fun and more of a statement. I recently picked up this Mulit-Layer Feather Drop Necklace and it is so fun! Top: Express Pants: LOFT Watch: Michael Kors Necklace: Paper Dolls via ASOS The necklace is a gold-toned multi-layered necklace, which is already fun in itself, but what really makes this necklace amazing is the two drop strands. The is all connected by a lobster claw fastening. The necklace isn’t too heavy so it’s very comfortable to wear. I love the look of the multi-chains and that each chain varies in thickness…

    Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! My family and friends were very good to me in the gift department this year. Oh and Santa too 😉 I thought I would share my ootd, not from today (I’ll share that tomorrow), but from Christmas Eve yesterday. Ya know, before I put on the onesie.  Top: LC Lauren Conrad via Kohls Pants: Exposed Zipper Leggings – Jolt via Macy’s Necklace:  Kate Spade I love the back of this shirt with the sheer lace panel and the bow details. I contemplated wearing a red tank top underneath to be more festive, but then I decided I wanted the greens and gold of the necklace to…

    Evergreen & Multi-gem Necklace

It’s my last day of work for 2014! Well, minus some tutoring next week, but it’s my last day of real work! This break is so needed as I’m starting to feel mentally and physically drained. Anyway, yesterday I knew I wanted to wear this evergreen sweater. It has a small zipper in the back and for some reason my hair always gets caught and it’s super annoying. Never happens with other similar shirts so it must be something with this zipper. At the last minute I decided to pair it with this multi-gem necklace. I’ve only ever worn this necklace with white/cream/off-white variations of sweaters since it is so…

    Baby Pink & Multi-Chain Necklace

I’m halfway through my last full week of work for the year. It’s been one of those annoying/frustrating weeks so I could not be more ready for winter break to arrive! This past Monday, I wore a baby pink sweater to work. In some lights it looked a bit brighter, almost bubblegum pink and in other lights it looked more baby pink. Since in these pictures I think it comes off lighter, let’s go with baby pink. They say bright colors help brighten your mood and while the past two mornings have been a little annoying, hopefully the rest of the week is good. Top: Gap Tank: Loft Pants: Express Necklace: Express The sweater…

    Knotted Multi-Strand Necklace

Normally I keep my look for work, in terms of jewelry, very simple. I wear a watch to work every day and on those rare occasions that I forget to wear one I feel lost. Sometimes earrings and a necklace once in a while as well. I prefer wearing long necklaces to work because they can dress up a simple outfit. Now since I prefer wearing long necklaces to work and long necklaces work best when you’re wearing a solid color top or else I find the look is too busy or the necklace can be hard to see when a print is in the background of the necklace. I’ve been a…
