    Werther’s Care Package

Last year sometime I wrote about how I was loving the Werther’s Original Cocoa Creme’s. They’re seriously so good! So I was absolutely delighted when Werther’s reached out to me and wanted to send me a little care package including their new vanilla creme’s. A little background on my love for Werther’s. When I was little I was never the kind of kid who loved sweets and candy. I’d eat a piece here and there, but I wasn’t one of those kids who thrived on sugar. However, one of my favorite sweets were the Werther’s hard candies. Those hard caramels definitely remind me of my childhood and are one of…

    Christmas Sweets & Treats

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with loved ones yesterday. It all comes and goes way too fast, but I’ve still got some photos to share with Christmas decor in the background so I’m holding on to the holiday for a little while longer. Plus, I’m headed to D.C. today for a few days and I’m sure my photos there will have Christmas decorations involved. Side note – as with all my trips I’ll be keeping a travel diary on here so starting tomorrow I’ll be documenting my trip until I return this weekend! I’m going to share what I wore for Christmas in a few days, but…

  • Cocoa Crinkle Cookies

    Cocoa Crinkle Cookies

Who doesn’t love chocolate? I’m not a big sweets person, but chocolate I can do as long as it’s not super rich. Thankfully these scrumptious cocoa crinkle cookies aren’t too rich. My mom and I have been making these for a year or two now and they’re so good! We follow the Hershey’s recipe (here) but just cut down on the sugar – instead of 2 cups we use 1 1/2. While this recipe is pretty easy to follow and the cookies aren’t hard to make, it’s important to note that they are not quick cookies. The batter has to be refrigerated for at least 6 hours. It’s a good…

  • Fried Honey Bananas

    Fried Honey Bananas

How is it Wednesday already? This week off work needs to slow down! I’m sharing a sweet treat food post with you today. Fun fact: I don’t like banana flavored things. I love bananas, the actual fruit, but not things that are flavored like banana – like lollipops, candy, etc. Since I do like real bananas, I’m sharing this recipe with you today for fried honey bananas. I don’t remember where I got the recipe originally, but i think this one might be it or at least pretty close. This recipe is really simple. You just need a banana, honey, cinnamon, water, and olive oil. Slice the banana up and in a…

  • Valentine's Muddy Buddies

    Valentine’s Muddy Buddies

Muddy Buddies or Puppy Chow or whatever you want to call it is something you may have made yourself before and/or most probably have eaten at some point. The not-too-sweet treat is addictive and easy to make. I hadn’t had it in years and was thinking of a simple snack I could make for Valentine’s Day. Making Muddy Buddies and adding in some valentine’s M&M’s seemed like the easiest idea! I used the recipe on the back of the Chex cereal box, but all you need are Chex, confectioner’s sugar, butter, peanut butter, and chocolate chips. What I did differently is I halved the recipe because the full recipe makes…

  • The Curious Creamery - Vanilla Ice Cream

    Curious Creamery Ice Cream

Today might be December 1, but I can have ice cream any time of the year. When The Curious Creamery reached out to me and asked if I wanted to try some of their ice cream mixes, I jumped at the chance. Who doesn’t love ice cream?! What’s cool about these mixes is that they make it so easy for you to make ice cream at home and they are healthier than your average ice cream. They contain no high fructose corn syrup, no trans fats, no artificial flavor, colors, or preservatives, naturally gluten free, and has 0g of Lactose. All you need is a hand mixer and cold liquid! The Curious…

  • Watermelon Cupcakes

    Watermelon Cupcakes

Okay, I’m going to preface this post with a note about how these cupcakes didn’t quite come out as planned. They weren’t a complete fail, but you’ll see what I mean. While I perused on Pinterest, as you do, I saw a cute summer cupcake idea – make them look like watermelons! I’m not great at decorating so this idea using just food coloring and chocolate chips was perfect for me. Running with that idea, I went ahead and did it myself. I got cake mix, food coloring, and chocolate chips. I made the batter as per instructions and then needed to dye it a light red so it would…

  • Lucky Charms Crispy Treats

    Lucky Charms Crispy Treat

Happy Easter! If you celebrate the holiday I hope you are having a wonderful day so far with family and/or friends. I’m having a small Easter dinner with family this evening. I already ate all the eggs I decorated. If you missed the eggs I decorated using Flash Tattoos then click (here). So when I think of Easter, besides anything religious, I think of pastels. Maybe because Easter is in the spring and I always think of being a kid and wearing an Easter dress which was always something pastel and/or floral. So when I was thinking of some sort of easy treat for Easter my mind went to these…

    Chocolate Pretzel Heart Bark

Happy Valentine’s Day! Whether you’re celebrating with a significant other, your girlfriends, alone or not celebrating at all it’s always nice to have a little sweet treat. 2 years ago I made heart shaped pie cookies and last year I shared heart shaped ravioli that I bought from my local Italian shop. So recently I was browsing Pinterest for some Valentine’s treat ideas when I came across chocolate bark with pretzels acting as hearts. The website of the pin I found wasn’t working so I just used the pictures as inspiration for my own thing. The whole process was fairly easy. I melted chocolate chips and white chocolate chips. I poured…
