    Giving Back

Still not Friday yet? This week has been non-stop. It’s been filled with work, stress, and too little sleep. These three things have probably all contributed to my forgetfulness the past few days which in turn has made me really frustrated and clumsy. It’s also led me to some zits popping up which brings me back to stress and frustration. It’s a vicious cycle! But I remind myself that the week is almost over and maybe some peace will soon be on its way to me. Thanksgiving is also 1 week away! I can’t believe it’s that time of year already. It’s a time to give thanks and although we should…

How to Survive a Field Trip

Field trips for teachers are tiring. While it’s a day that I don’t have to be in the classroom worrying about completing lessons and doing other work, it is a day full of keeping track of students, crossing your fingers they are on their best behavior, loud talking screams on the bus, etc. Last week, I got roped into being one of the chaperones for a trip with my seniors to the National College Fair. I documented almost all of the parts of my day on the trip so this post will serve as a combination “guide” to surviving a field trip and a virtual way for you all to…

    Back to School Night OOTD

Back to School Night was last night so I wanted to wear a dress to work. Since I would be at work until about 8:30 PM I wanted to wear a dress that was comfortable to be in all day. I debated wearing open toed nude heels or booties with the dress. It was in the 70s so it would’ve been completely fine to wear the heels, but since we are getting farther into September I do want to try to incorporate more fall pieces into the mix.    Sweater: J.Crew Factory Dress: Sleeveless Printed Dress (Spearmint)- American Rag via Macy’s Boots: Mix No. 6 via DSW Watch: Michael Kors My makeup was using…

First Day of School: Teacher Edition OOTD

Yesterday was my first day back to work with the students. I knew it was going to be a scorcher out and although my building has air conditioning, my room has poor insulation so I knew my room would be really hot. I went with a lightweight, floral dress and even with that I was sweating by afternoon! Dress: H&M Shoes: Levity via DSW Watch:  Michael Kors If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know I’m all about the floral prints so when I saw this dress I had to have it! It’s a bit sheer since it is such a lightweight material so I wore a camisole and…

Getting Ready for Graduation…As a Teacher

School’s out! Today was the last day of school, but the seniors graduated a few days ago (everyone else had a few extra days due to the horrible winter we had). Most people want to look nice at graduations, even if you are just a guest and not the graduate, because it is a big event and there are a lot of pictures that will be taken. Graduation was after school and at another venue. I didn’t have time to go home in between so I had to bring everything with me. I planned out what makeup to wear keeping in mind that it had to go with what I…
