    Tweed Blazer

So I didn’t get my snow day yesterday, but I did get an early dismissal so that was nice! Though now I feel like it’s going to be harder to get back in to the swing of things after the holiday weekend. Anyway, I know we’re all in full on holiday mode now, but I have 1 more fall look for you. The good thing is this tweed blazer is a great holiday look too so it’s an easy transition piece to go from fall to holiday/winter. I wore this tweed blazer with pearl details with jeans, a pink lace trim cami, and black heels. I finished off the look…

    Faux Wrap Tweed Skirt

Okay, it’s really hard to tell in these photos, but this is a faux wrap skirt. This tweed-like skirt has a diagonal fray detailing on the side to make it look like a wrap skirt, but it’s attached and does not open at all. Like I said, it’s hard to tell, but I mostly got this skirt because I love the colors. I paired it with a bright pink cardigan, lace top, and block heel booties. Cardigan: Target | Top: Chicwish | Skirt: LOFT | Boots: DSW | Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs I loved the combination of the lace and bright pink cardigan and the pink/blue/white in the skirt.…

    Restyled: Tweed Skirt

Yesterday reached into the high 80s which is a scorcher for April. It’s supposed to be in the 80s again today but back to the 60s tomorrow. So since we’re not officially into summer weather yet, it’s safe to share this tweed skirt I restyled recently. Last year when I shared it on here, I wore it with a white cashmere sweater, cream knit tights, and brown slouchy boots. This time around I wore it with a mint green cardigan, dark grey tights, and black slouchy boots. Cardigan: J.Crew Factory | Skirt: J.Crew Factory | Tights: American Eagle | Boots: DSW | Watch: Fossil Mint green is a favorite shade of mine…

    Lilac + Tweed

My spring break is off to a nice, relaxing start so far and the weather has been fabulous. Yesterday it was in the high 70s and today is supposed to be in the 80s! The weather will start to cool back down to the 60s later this week, which is fine with me. I don’t like to skip spring and get right to summer. Despite the fact that I’m on spring break, I’m sharing a look I wore to work last month – a lightweight lilac sweater, stretch tweed pants, and a small statement necklace. Top: American Eagle | Pants: Macy’s | Necklace: Banana Republic Factory | Shoes: DSW This…

    Tiny Cutouts + Tweed

And just like that it’s Monday again. I hope you all had a good weekend! We may be in mid-October now and lately the temperatures have felt a bit more like fall but this week it’s going to feel like summer again with temperatures reaching 80 the next few days! I was feeling so out of it yesterday and I have a feeling these crazy temperature differences are going to make a lot of people sick. Seeing as how it’s a warm day it seems appropriate to share this work look from last month when it was also a warm day (though in September it seems more normal!). I wore…

    Tweed Skirt

There’s just something about tweed that I’m drawn to. It’s often seen as a classic, vintage-y look, or associated with an old professor’s jacket, but whatever I like it! So I see it as classic, not just the staple look of an older academic. I got this tweed skirt from the J.Crew factory store back in the fall and I love the blue/green/yellow colors woven together. Since I wanted the colors of the skirt to be the star of the look, I paired it with a plain white cashmere sweater, white tights, and brown slouchy boots. These are all neutral pieces so that the skirt really stands out. Sweater: Charter Club…

    Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! My family and friends were very good to me in the gift department this year. Oh and Santa too 😉 I thought I would share my ootd, not from today (I’ll share that tomorrow), but from Christmas Eve yesterday. Ya know, before I put on the onesie.  Top: LC Lauren Conrad via Kohls Pants: Exposed Zipper Leggings – Jolt via Macy’s Necklace:  Kate Spade I love the back of this shirt with the sheer lace panel and the bow details. I contemplated wearing a red tank top underneath to be more festive, but then I decided I wanted the greens and gold of the necklace to…

    Sheer Floral//Layers & Textures

It’s no surprise that I would wear a top with a floral print, but what I love about this outfit I put together is how well the layers went together and the layered textures look really appealing to the (my) eye. This floral, long sleeve top is sheer so I had to wear a tank top underneath. Instead of going with the standard white or black, I opted for green-ish blue, because I thought that would be a nice, complimentary color to show through. It’s hard to tell in this picture, but in person you can really see the tank top/color through the shirt. I wore the same tweed-like textured…
