Dream Day Style Challenge

Today, I’m bringing you a wedding look I came up with for Lover.ly‘s Dream Day Style Challenge. I was invited to participate in this challenge and it was a lot of fun! Lover.ly is full of ideas for all things wedding and while I’m not planning a wedding of my own right now, it is always fun to look at ideas for dresses, decorations, invitation designs etc.
Lover.ly sent me 3 images to pick from: city glam, beach affair, or rustic soiree. After choosing one of the wedding settings, I was to come up with a wedding day look. I chose city glam! I’ve never envisioned a beach wedding for myself. The idea of an outdoor ceremony/wedding makes me nervous because you never know how the weather will be. I know places have backup plans in case of bad weather, but in my mind I think that if I had to go with the backup plan it just wouldn’t be what I had envisioned during all that planning time. Anyway, it’s just not my style. Rustic soiree is a lovely idea too and I probably could go with either that or city glam, buttttt I just liked the city glam picture more, so that’s what I went with!

I love this dress! I think the lace details are so gorgeous and feminine. Classic and timeless is my style for a wedding look and I think that goes perfectly with a city glam wedding. I like the look of a veil with a wedding gown, but I don’t see myself being the kind of person to wear the veil for longer than just the ceremony, so I like this simple yet elegant lace trimmed veil. For me, the style of this dress is ideal. While I love ball gowns, it’s hard to find just the right one since I’m petite and don’t want to be taken over by material. Also, I wouldn’t want a column gown because I’m short and I think that a straight gown like that could accentuate the shortness. That’s why I chose this beautiful A-line gown.
I know some people love the idea of wearing bright color shoes with their wedding gown. My style isn’t to go with a bright color like red with the wedding gown, but if I was to incorporate some color I would go with baby pink. I decided to go with pink and white sapphire earrings to match the baby pink shoes. Also, a little bit of color on your ears is a nice touch since you’ll already be wearing diamonds on your finger! The diamond heart link bracelet is a nice addition of arm candy to your wrist without going overboard and is a nice symbol of the day. The high, lace neck makes it unnecessary to wear a necklace and I wouldn’t lay anything over that lace because it’s so beautiful left alone.
That’s the style I came up with! Who knows what my actual wedding day look will look like, but it was still fun to style this.
