Travel Day: California Edition

I’m writing to you from Irvine, California today! Like I’ve done previously, I thought I’d do little recaps of my days and other little tidbits during my travels. Yesterday was exhausting. The previous night (Thursday) I got home late from the Prom and then had to some last minute packing etc. so I didn’t get to bed til around 2am. I started Friday off tired and had to get all my stuff together and head to the airport.

If you’re unfamiliar with US geography, California is across the country from where I live so I had a 6 hour flight yesterday. What did I do on the flight? Well, I didn’t feel like paying for the movie (P.S. is charging for movies on flights normal? Because whenever movies have been offered on flights I’ve been on, they’ve been free!). So no movie for me, which meant I did exactly 6 things on the flight. I listened to music, I took little naps, I ate my bagel that I bought at a kiosk by my gate at the airport, I drank my soda, I went to the bathroom once, and I read almost half of Mindy Kaling’s book Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? I had heard good things about her book and I have to say it doesn’t disappoint in the slightest! But you’ll have to wait a little while for my review which I fully plan on posting soon.

By the time I landed, got my luggage and got to my hotel, I was both starving and tired. My friends who had already arrived were at the rehearsal dinner for the wedding and some of my other friends hadn’t arrived yet. I relaxed in my room and decided to order room service. I did take some pictures of the salad I ordered, but I wasn’t too fond of it, so I’ll skip those pictures. It was a salad with butter lettuce, grapes, apples, almonds, and goat cheese with I think a sherry vinaigrette. The salad wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t as good as I was hoping and the dressing was very sour! So I ate enough to satisfy my hunger but I knew it wouldn’t last me long.

Luckily for me, my friends who arrived later than me stopped at In-n-Out, the famous burger chain over here on the west coast, and picked me up some food! The burger was delicious. I’ve never had In-n-Out before and it definitely lived up to the hype. Although it could be a combination of being truly scrumptious and my hunger. But still, it was really good and I finished every last bite of it.

Today is my friend’s wedding, which I probably won’t recap until Monday when I have more time. I have a “what’s in my makeup bag?” post I plan to put up tomorrow since that should be a quick post with a run-down of what I brought for this weekend trip.

As I write this (on Friday night to be scheduled Saturday morning) I’m starting to fall asleep, so until Sunday!
