    #fbf Seaside Stroll

I met up with Lauren yesterday for a late summer photoshoot and we got so lucky with the weather. It rained in the morning, was cloudy for most of the afternoon, and then the clouds parted and it was a beautiful evening. The same thing happened during our summer photoshoot at a small beach last year, when the photo below was taken. It poured the first half of the day and then became a gorgeous evening. With my summer break winding down, I thought it was a good time to share this throwback photo. ““The ocean is everything I want to be. Beautiful, mysterious, wild, and free.” — Unknown

Which is why it can be essential to save all of those beautiful moments in a way that celebrates them and lets you look back over them any time you like. So here are some ingenious ways to save family memories – so you can admire them forever.  Photo by Debby Hudson on Unsplash Travel Not everyone heads off to far flung locations, many of us stay trips closer to home. June 2020 Favorites

Can you believe it’s already the end of June? This has been the weirdest year ever. We’re more than halfway through 2020 and we’ve been in lockdown or in some sort of quarantine for almost 4 of those months. I have a few favorites from this month to share. It’s actually a pretty short list. First, I’ve mentioned this before and if you follow my Instagram Stories, then you know I’ve been trying to go for daily walks whenever the weather is good. When I was working from home during the last 3 months of school, I knew I had to get out for walks. It was good to get…

If you know me well, you know that I sometimes feel like I was born in the wrong time. Only in some ways, though. I love modern technology and amenities. Don’t try to stick me somewhere without air conditioning, electricity, wifi, etc.! But, when I was a kid I asked for weird things for gifts. My top choice was always clothes, because my love for clothes has been there since I was born apparently. But, instead of the latest toys and whatever else little kids typically ask for, I asked for things like a sewing machine, french phone, typewriter. I loved the idea of writing letters and when my 4th…

Flashing Back to My Senior Year

Today is the last day of the school year for my students and the last official day of work for me. Although I still have some work to do for the next few days, I don’t have any classes to teach until next school year. But, it feels so weird to be done with school. While I have been meeting with my students daily via Zoom, it doesn’t feel like the end of the school year and it doesn’t feel like a proper closure to the year. I haven’t physically seen my students in 3 months! The last day or two of the school year is always filled with kids…

The Joys of Taking On a Challenge

https://unsplash.com/photos/L0o1RfQuPUY Everybody should try to take on challenges in their lives, so what stops them? There are many reasons people do not seek the challenges the world has to offer. Whether it’s fear, laziness, a lack of time, or just not knowing what is available, they miss out on a range of moments that can help you become the person you were always destined to be. Part of life is finding ways to improve who you are, and becoming confident with yourself, and you won’t be able to do that unless you challenge yourself. If you still feel nervous, here are three joys that will come from taking on a…

    “My Life Plan…Undone”

If you’ve been following along on my posts for the past 2+ months, then you have probably heard me mention that I was writing a book on Wattpad called My Life Plan…Undone. It’s a story of finding yourself or perhaps it would better be described as a story of realizing you don’t need to have found yourself or have it all figured it out by the end of high school. It’s a love story too. I just finished the story yesterday! It’s bittersweet to be done writing something I spent the past 3 months working on. I’m sad to say goodbye to the story, but excited to move on to a…

    #fbf Martha’s Vineyard

Sharing another flashback Friday today. So many people have been sharing throwbacks lately, back when times were simpler and more carefree. With it about to be Memorial Day Weekend, things are feeling extra strange. Normally, the holiday weekend is the unofficial kickoff to summer. Lots of barbecues, people going to the beach, opening up their pools etc. But, here in NJ, we’re still pretty much in lockdown even though very few restrictions have been eased. Beaches are open now, but social distancing has to be practiced and capacity is limited. State parks are open, but again the same restrictions apply. Non-essential retail is allowed to reopen for curbside pickup only…

    Monday Motivation

For those of you who don’t know, I’m a teacher full-time. I’ve been teaching online during this pandemic since March 18. I can’t believe it’s been almost 2 months! It’s really flown by, but at the same time it’s getting really tiring. I’m tired and I’m sure you’re tired too of the quarantine and the unknown. Sunday night blues aren’t exactly the same as they used to be when I was going into work, but there’s still that “Ugh I have to wake up early tomorrow for work.” On the upside, being “at work” every day from 7:30-4:00 has made my days go by fast and has kept me from getting…

    Baked by Melissa Delivery

Have you ever had the little tiny cupcakes from Baked by Melissa? They make all different kinds of little tiny cupcakes that are literally like bite size pieces of heaven. I first went to the shop and tried their cupcakes years ago – I believe shortly after college and that’s a while ago. I think my friend told me about them because she had heard of the shop and so one day when we were in the city (New York City) we went. Anyway, I remember them being so delicious and Tie Dye being my favorite – still is! Since that day that I first tried them, multiple locations have…
