Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick
Happy Wednesday! We’re halfway through the week, but the weekend seems so far away right now! Today I have a foundation review for you — Bobbi Brown’s Skin Foundation Stick. This is a pricey foundation. This is tied with Make Up For Ever’s HD Invisible Coverage for most expensive foundation I’ve ever had and as my beauty blog buddies know, these two are not even the most expensive out there!
I bought the foundation in the shade “Sand”, which is the 4th from the lightest shade. There is a pretty wide shade range to choose from, by the way! The stick is sleek and compact. I love the shiny black packaging with the gold interior.
The foundation applies very smoothly and does not accentuate any dry spots. Bobbi Brown claims that this foundation contains skin tone correct pigments and is supposed to give a very natural look. Does it do the job? I would have to say yes, it does what it claims. The foundation is very lightweight and natural. It does a good job of correcting uneven skin tone, but you will need a concealer to cover up any blemishes. Seeing as my skin has been acting up a bit lately (but thankfully seems to be getting back to normal now, fingers crossed!!) I’ve had to use a lot of concealer to cover up the huge pimple that was on my nose for days. But I didn’t want to have to open up a different foundation so I stuck with this Bobbi Brown one and despite the fact that I needed to use concealer on one or two pesky blemishes, the foundation really held up nicely on the rest of my face and gave a very natural appearance.
So to sum it up:
- the foundation offers a light, natural coverage
- applies smoothly
- compact and travel friendly
I do have to add that one thing I don’t particularly like about this foundation is that it’s so lightweight that when I swipe it around my face, I have to very lightly buff it into my skin because I’m afraid if I use too much pressure I’ll actually wipe the foundation away.
All in all, I do enjoy this foundation. I’m not positive if I’d repurchase it as I feel if I’m looking for a light coverage foundation I can easily find a much cheaper alternative from the drugstore.
