Happy Friday! This week’s photo challenge from The Daily Post was “Boundaries” and I have to tell you I was coming up blank for most of the week on what to use as my photo response. I’m sure I have similar photos as what was used as an example on The Daily Post, but I didn’t have a lot of time this week to really dig into my archives and search for a picture without having something already in mind.
However, during the week I was texting with one of my friends (shoutout to Amy!) about getting together for dinner next week and it brought to mind her wedding a few years ago. I was honored to be a bridesmaid in her wedding and I remembered that I had a photo from before the ceremony that could fit into this photo challenge both literally and symbolically.
The suite where we waited for the ceremony to begin was on the second level of the venue. We had to walk from basically where I’m standing taking this picture, around the length of the room (along the bannister), down the staircase and then finally up the aisle.
I see this photo as representing “Boundaries” in two ways. Literally because that bannister was the boundary between the two levels, not to mention the boundary from me falling over while nervous! Seriously, that was a long walk when you’re nervous and in heels! Symbolically, this photo represents a boundary because my friend Amy was crossing the “boundary” of unmarried to married life. A little corny? Perhaps. But, that’s what I came up with!
