    Photo Challenge: Twisted

So happy today is Friday! This 4 day week hasn’t been too bad, but life has been so hectic lately that I will take any kind of break I can get. Today’s photo challenge response is sadly the last one! The Daily Post has decided to end their weekly challenges on WordPress, which is a bummer as I really enjoyed using the photo challenges as an excuse to take new photos and/or look through all my old ones to find a photo to use. I thought about finding new photo challenges to take part in as there are so many on the Internet I’m sure, but I think what I…

Photo Challenge: Place in the World

Happy Friday! It may almost be the weekend, but it’s actually the start of a very busy week (or two or three) for me. I have 3 weddings to go to in the span of 4 weekends plus lots of wedding related events and other social events to go to during the weeks. Oh yeah and regular/work/personal things to get done. Hopefully I don’t completely burn out! But let me take one thing at a time so as to keep myself from going crazy – starting with today’s photo challenge response. The Daily Post’s photo challenge last week was “Place in the World“. I decided to use a photo from…

    Photo Challenge: Unlikely

It’s finally Friday, everyone! This week has felt exceptionally long and yesterday was particularly stressful and crazy, but that’s for another day. Hopefully today will be a much calmer day at work and then I’ve got dinner plans and a bonfire at work/school so at least those are things to look forward to! If you had asked me a few years ago if I would ever watch a “movie under the stars” and it be broad daylight at 10pm, I would say that’s crazy – highly “Unlikely“. But, lo and behold, I was on an Alaskan cruise 2 summers ago and watched two or three movies under the stars on…

    Photo Challenge: Lines

It’s finally Friday! It’s been one of those weeks where every day I thought for a split second that the next day was Friday and unfortunately, it wasn’t. But it is Friday, so let’s get to today’s photo challenge response! Last week’s photo challenge from The Daily Post was “Lines” and I really did not know what I was going to use for my photo. I was scrolling through photos on my phone and saw this photo I snapped last summer at a Starbucks. This wall art of metal lines curled up to look like a steaming hot cup of coffee is curled around light bulbs for a wall art/light…

    Photo Challenge: Prolific

Happy Friday! Any big plans this weekend? It’s been another week where I have been going to sleep too late, so I’m looking forward to sleeping in a little tomorrow morning. I’ve got an early appointment Sunday morning so tomorrow is my only chance! Let’s get to my Friday photo challenge response. Last week’s photo challenge from The Daily Post was “Prolific“. Prolific can mean plentiful, abundant. Whenever I think of the word “prolific”, it makes me think of famous people and their careers – if they produce a lot of work, that is. The photo I’m using is from my trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (you…

    Photo Challenge: Awakening

Happy Friday! It’s still not feeling totally spring-like here yet. The flowering trees are blooming which is nice, but there’s still no leaves on the other trees. I’m still patiently waiting. But, since most other places in the country¬†are experiencing spring it seems right that the photo challenge last week on The Daily Post was “Awakening“. A majority of the trees might still be bare, but spring flowers are available at the stores and I couldn’t help but pick up some tulips recently. Tulips are one of my favorite spring flowers. They are so pretty! They definitely remind me of Easter, which I always associate with the start of spring.…

    Photo Challenge: Smile

Happy Friday! I’m happy to say the work week went by pretty quickly, but I have a ton I need to get done so I wish I had a few extra hours in the day! What I love about photos is that they are snapshots of a memory. Any memory. Something beautiful you saw that you want to hold on to, a loving memory, an adventure, etc. We all have taken photos that when you look back on you can’t help but laugh or it brings a smile to your face. So with last week’s photo challenge, “Smile“, I’m sharing a photo from last summer. If you’ve been following my…

    Photo Challenge: Rise/Set

I love a good sunrise or sunset photo and can’t resist taking photos of the gorgeous sky during them. When I saw that last week’s photo challenge was “Rise/Set” I looked through my photos to see what sunrise or sunset photo I wanted to use and hadn’t already shared before – at least not for a photo challenge. Last summer I went to Cape Cod for vacation and on the last night I went to dinner at Mattakeese Wharf¬†and was lucky enough to get a table by the window so I could see the view and the beautiful sunset. Luckily it was good weather! I took a whole series of…

    Photo Challenge: I’d Rather Be…

Yesterday I was supposed to have a delayed opening due to the snow, but it turned out to be a day off. Not one to usually complain about a day off from work (except for now I keep losing days of summer break), I was exceptionally bored yesterday. I’m done with winter now and I really need spring! So for last week’s photo challenge from The Daily Post, “I’d Rather Be…” it was a no-brainer. I’d rather be in Hawaii, my favorite place on earth! I’ve shared this photo on here once or twice before, but I don’t think I’ve ever used it for a photo challenge. Regardless, it’s just…

    Photo Challenge: Story

We made it to Friday! Last week’s photo challenge from The Daily Post was “Story” and I wanted to find a photo of mine that told a visual story but at the same time made you wonder what the real story was. I took this photo in November when on a field trip with some students on a beach clean up trip. We went to Island Beach State Park for a few hours and the rangers provided us with gloves and garbage bags. Upon walking on to the beach it looked pristine, empty, and beautiful. But once we started digging a bit under the top layer of sand we found…
