Photo Challenge: Alphabet

Friday! This week, despite only being a 4 day work week, has felt so long. Anyone else feel the same way? There’s supposed to be a blizzard here this weekend and part of me is actually looking forward to being snowed in so I can just recharge.

Onto my response to this past week’s photo challenge. This past week The Daily Post’s photo challenge was “Alphabet”. If you don’t know, my day job is teaching. In my AP Literature class, we’re currently reading Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice which I haven’t read myself since I was in high school. As I began reading it to refresh my memory I remembered how much I absolutely love Jane Austen and this novel. I’ve seen the movie plenty of times in recent years, but I haven’t read the book in so long and doing so has really made me remember how much I love it.

In general, as an English teacher, and as a blogger – I love reading and writing. Literature is amazing. These letters form words and these words get stringed together to create this art form that creates and opens whole worlds to its readers.

Pride & Prejudice

“I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book! — When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.”

Okay, so this quote from the novel might be said in a totally non-serious way by one of the antagonists, but still I think it’s pretty fitting!
