Rodan + Fields Mini Facial

Have any of you ever tried any Rodan + Fields products? The brand is created by the same doctors who created popular skincare line, Proactiv. Recently, Rachel, an independent consultant for Rodan + Fields, was kind enough to send me some samples to try out including the Micro-Dermabrasion Paste. I used Proactiv for years starting back in high school and a few years ago stopped because it was no longer working for me. I think that’s why I’m a big proponent of switching up skincare and haircare every once in a while because I feel like your skin/hair just gets used to the product and it loses its effectiveness. Anyway, these products were my first dip into Rodan + Fields!

I received a sample of the Micro-Dermabrasion Paste, Night Renewing Serum, and Lip Renewing Serum. Each of these samples was enough for one use, so I’ll be giving you my first impressions.

First up, the Micro-Dermabrasion Paste. It is meant to be used in the morning to “enhance cell turnover and improve tone and texture”. This may sound weird, but the paste looked and even felt like mashed potatoes! It was smooth and velvety to the touch. Once applied to my face it quickly transformed into a gritty exfoliator. This felt amazing on my face and as I washed away the paste my skin instantly felt soft and smooth.

The Night Renewing Serum (blue) absorbed quickly into the skin. I didn’t notice any distinctive smell. It claims to “visibly improve skin texture and firmness and reduce the appearance of wrinkles”.

I didn’t get a picture of the Lip Renewing Serum, but it looks similar to the Night Renewing Serum. It had a very tropical scent/taste – not quite coconut, but something that I can only associate with the beach. I can’t quite place the exact scent, but it was very pleasant!

Since the samples were just enough for me to use once, I can’t speak to any of these products in the long-term. However, I can tell you that I didn’t have any adverse effects to any of them. My favorite was definitely the Micro-Dermabrasion Paste. If I decide to order full size products of any of these it would be the paste, hands down!
