If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know by now that I love trying out various eye creams. Last year I remembered watching one of Emilynoel83’s, or Beauty Broadcast and she’s also known, videos where she raved about the CeraVe Eye Repair Cream. Since I’m not one to pass up a good drugstore recommendation, I decided to give it a try once my little jar of L’Oreal Eye Defense was completely cleaned out.
Besides the fact that Emily had toted this as a gem of a drugstore find, I wanted to try it because the brand claims that it will visibly reduce dark circles and puffiness. I don’t really deal with puffiness, but I am a sufferer of dark circles.
I’ve been using this for close to 2 weeks so I feel like I can give some feedback now. The squeeze tube is nice and hygienic as opposed to products like the L’Oreal Eye Defense or the Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream where you have to actually dip your finger into the pot. The CeraVe formula is drier, if it makes sense for a cream to be dry? I think what I’m trying to say is that some creams feel very creamy and moisturizing and some feel drier so this would fall in the drier category. Having just come off the L’Oreal Eye Defense which is super creamy and luminous this is a big contrast.
Finally, has it diminished my dark circles? Well, I think it has but very subtly and this might be the kind of product that you will see changes or its effectiveness very gradually. Without makeup on, I don’t really notice much of a difference with my dark circles. However, I have noticed that it takes much less product and work for me to conceal my dark circles with concealer. And I haven’t changed concealers so the only difference is the eye cream. All in all, it’s a nice under eye cream and I think it is slowly working. I mean, if I can conceal my dark circles with much more ease after 1-2 weeks then something must be working! For less than $12, I think it’s worth a try.
