Covergirl + Olay The De-Puffer

Well it took me a year but I finally finished up my IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Concealer. That tube seemed to be never ending and although I had other products I wanted to try out I wanted to finish this one first. I’m a little OCD about finishing things. Anyway, now that I finally finished up the IT Cosmetics concealer, I finally got open up my Covergirl + Olay The De-Puffer Eye Concealer.

The concealer, which I got in “light”, claims to reduce the look of puffy eyes and dark circles. I don’t suffer from puffy eyes, but I do have dark circles so anything that claims to reduce those I’m always open to try. The product also has a metal applicator so it has a cooling effect.

I’ve been using the product for a few days now so I can’t speak to the long term use of this concealer, but so far I do like it. It has taken a little getting used to because it is a different consistency than the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Underye. The IT Cosmetics one is thick whereas this Covergirl one is much thinner and on the runny/watery side. That’s not to say one is better than the other, but it is just different than what I’ve been using consistently for the past year. I apply it straight from the tube so the metal applicator can give that cooling effect to my undereye. Then I use my middle or ring finger to dab and blend it in. I set it with my standard BareMinerals Well Rested powder.

So like I said, I do like it so far. It has a brightening effect which I think is what helps disguise the dark circles. It’s not a heavy concealer since it is so thin so it comes off as very natural. I believe it’s more of a brightening concealer than a cover up if that makes sense.

I have been very tired this past week. Each night I tell myself I’m going to go to bed earlier and I end up going to bed later! So this has been a good week to test out this concealer. It doesn’t erase my fine lines, nor does it claim to, but the dark circles seem to be greatly diminished which is all I can ask for.

All in all, this is a great under eye concealer for day to day use due to its natural finish. It won’t help me stop yawning this week, but at least I don’t look as tired as I feel!
