Meatloaf
Meatloaf gets a bad rap sometimes as bad cafeteria food, but it’s one of my favorite comfort foods. And if you make it yourself it can be extremely tasty. Today I’m sharing photos of how I make meatloaf using my mom’s recipe that she’s been using for years.
First, I start off with meatloaf mix (veal, pork, and beef) and italian breadcrumbs.
Then, I add in 1 egg, sauteed onion, parsley, salt and pepper and mix with my hands. Once it’s all incorporated I move it onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and shape it into the meatloaf shape.
For the meatloaf glaze I mix ketchup, mustard, brown sugar and brushed it all over the meatloaf.
I bake it for approximately 50 minutes to an hour depending on how much meat you use. I love the taste of the glaze so much so that I love the end pieces of the meatloaf so I get extra sauce! I usually keep some of the extra glaze so that I can use it for any leftovers.
Slice and serve with any sides of your choosing! I usually have vegetables and mashed potatoes because meatloaf and mashed potatoes go hand in hand.
Any other meatloaf lovers out there?
