bareMinerals Invisible Light
I have been using bareMinerals for years and years – a little less these days but it’s still a reliable brand after all these years in my opinion. I started using their powder foundation back when I was in high school. We don’t need to talk about how many years ago that was. My mom had ordered it for me through QVC on an automated delivery schedule so it would get sent to me monthly and that’s basically all I wore in terms of makeup for years. Those were the days when all bareMinerals products were loose mineral powders. Remember back when the only eyeshadows they sold were loose powders? It was only in recent years that they started the whole pressed powder line and Ready Eyeshadows.
In any case, the last time I went into the bareMinerals store at my local mall I picked up their Invisible Light Translucent Powder Duo. The brand says it will set your liquid foundation and concealer while also “blurring fine lines, pores and imperfections”.
As the name suggests, this rectangular compact consists of two powders. One called “Matte” and the other “Glow”. Matte is a stark white, but does not come off white on your skin. Glow is white with a champagne marbling. Here’s what the bareMinerals website says:
“Two distinct, advanced translucent setting powder and finishing powder blur the look of pores and imperfections. Matte absorbs oil and creates an even, long lasting, youthful looking finish. Glow infused with rose gold pearls, adds sheer luminosity for highlighting and strobing. Unique baked technology creates a creamy, cushioned formula for a luxurious feel.”
I use Matte as a finishing powder lightly dusting it all over my face. I use Glow as a highlight. It’s a very subtle and wearable highlight so you don’t have to worry about going overboard at all and look like a disco ball if you put a little too much on your brush.
I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and I’m really enjoying it!
