Winter Formal Style

Over the years I’ve gone to a few holiday and New Year’s Eve parties that required formal wear, but I’ve never been to a winter wedding. Every wedding I’ve gone to has been in the spring and summer. The most recent wedding I went to was in the fall, but that’s the coldest weather wedding I’ve ever been to. So when Polyvore had a winter wedding style challenge I wanted to try my hand at it.

I knew I wanted to do a long sleeve dress and there are plenty of long sleeve dresses that offer more sparkle than the solid red skater dress I chose, but I decided I wanted to go with a solid dress for a classic look. I chose red since it’s perfect for winter with its rich color. I paired it with a vintage style gold statement necklace, black lace peep toe heels, and a lace Dolce & Gabbana box clutch with gold hardware.

Now someone just needs to invite me to a winter wedding!
