Clinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector & Optimizer

I’ve got a quick post for you about Clinique’s Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector & Optimizer. The name of the product is a mouthful. Seriously it might be longer than this whole post.

I’m always on the hunt for products that claim to diminish the appearance of dark spots or acne scars. I was pretty lucky during my teenage years to never suffer from bad acne. I would get a few pimples here and there but never a full on break out. I know some kids have it bad with pimples all over their faces so I count myself lucky. As the years went on, and to this day I still don’t get massive breakouts but I do still get pimples that crop up pretty consistently. And while I don’t get acne all over my face, those few pimples I do get tend to leave scars. So I will literally try anything that says it will get rid of them.

Clinique has long been one of my favorite brands. It’s so reliable and the products are so nice whether it’s makeup or skincare – it’s all great. I heard their Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector & Optimizer worked really well and I read on a blog or two that it was great for acne scars. I put it down on my list of things to try. It’s pricey, but like I said I’ll try anything. Then, one day, I saw Macy’s was having a Clinique sale. They do this from time to time and there was an amazing deal on the serum so I had to get it. Even though I was in the middle of some other serum, I had to jump on the sale price and just hold on to the Clinique serum until I finished up the product I had been using.

So now I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and it feels so nice on my skin. I dot it around my face and gently massage it in. It absorbs in a minute or so but I like to wait a few minutes before putting on my moisturizer to really let it sink in.

As you can see, the bottle has dual chambers. Clinique describes the product as a:

“two-pronged approach to brightness and even tone: Even Better Clinical serum plus soothing optimizer. We started with the power of our Even Better Clinical serum with CL-302 complex over the appearance of dark spots and paired it with a new soothing optimizer for power over the irritations that cause darkening.”

So far so good. I’ve noticed a few of my small spots getting lighter. The bigger scars will take a lot more work and time I’m sure, but I don’t think this is a product that will work over night so that’s to be expected. I enjoy using this product and I think it definitely works. I can’t wait to see if it’ll work to get rid of or at least seriously fade some of the bigger marks. I’ll let you know!
