So at the end of August, my brother asked my parents and I if we wanted to go to a Yankees game because his boss had given him tickets. Never one to pass up a chance to see the Yankees I was totally in. You may have caught my Instagram stories with videos and photos of the drive from NJ to Yankee Stadium in the Bronx and walking up to the stadium from the parking lot. You might have also noticed I didn’t have any more videos or photos from the actual game after that and the next posts I had were from walking around the city. So what happened?
Well, it was no one’s fault really – just a miscommunication – but we ended up not being able to see the game. My brother’s boss has season tickets (at the field level!) with a friend – I guess they alternate games or have some sort of calendar. He was going on vacation with his family so he offered the tickets for that game to my brother. However, his friend didn’t know or missed the message about this and sold the tickets on Stubhub! So when we got there, obviously our physical tickets wouldn’t scan and the ticket office told us that other people had already scanned the tickets and that they were Stubhub tickets. It wasn’t until we got back to the car that my brother saw he had messages from his boss on his work phone saying he had just found out from his friend that he sold the tickets. The boss and his friend were really apologetic and offered to pay for tickets for that game or our use of his tickets for the next game, which we didn’t end up taking him up on. A bit bummed to not see the game, but it wasn’t anyone’s fault really so couldn’t really be that upset! Just think, if we had gotten there a little earlier we might’ve been able to get in and the people who paid for tickets would have tickets that couldn’t be scanned!
While we regrouped and decided what we wanted to do with our day instead – I didn’t want to drive all the way home since we had just driven (and gotten stuck in traffic) for over an hour to get out there – I took the opportunity to get my brother to take a few photos of me.

Instead, we drove in to Manhattan and walked around, had a late lunch at Eataly, and strolled a bit of The Highline before heading home so it was still a good day! Below are some photos!
The day may not have gone as planned, but it ended up still being a good day!
