Winter Interior Inspiration

I love looking at interior design posts on Instagram and Pinterest. If I were more creative, I think I’d really love a career in interior design. But I think I’m better at enjoying looking at them than putting it together myself. So when Chill Insurance presented me with the opportunity to share some winter interior inspo I jumped at the chance to pull some things I’m loving.

While I do enjoy when people post images of interiors that are modern and have clean lines, they’re not my personal style. I prefer a cozier, warm style. I want a space that I feel warm and comfortable in, not one that feels cold and stiff which can happen with more modern interiors.

I love these two living rooms. The couches look comfortable and they exude a cozy and warm vibe. The spaces aren’t cluttered, but aren’t empty either. I love the book shelves in both living rooms because they give a lived-in feel. Perfect for those cold winter days!

Speaking of comfy couches, this one looks comfortable and inviting too!

Lighting is also a thing I’m really in to. I’m always looking at light fixtures when I’m out. I love the idea of chandeliers in rooms other than the dining room or entry way. They’re so pretty, warm up a room, and are a little glam.

Statement mirrors are nice interior pieces all-year round but imagine them in the winter reflecting candle light or with twinkle lights around. So pretty! During the day, the sunlight reflected on the mirrors opens up the room and lightens it up, which is great for the winter when you’re trying to get as much sunlight as possible.

Another interior piece that works all-year round but is especially nice in winter are area shag rugs. They come in all sizes. I’ve seen some that are big enough for a large space in a room and ones that are tiny and great for in front of a dressing mirror. I love hardwood floors but sometimes, especially in winter, they’re cold on your feet so these kinds of rugs are perfect.

Who doesn’t love a good coat of paint? I’m very in to accent walls and I think the look and vibe of a room can totally change by painting just one wall a brighter or richer color. Colors like this shade of blue are not only pretty but will instantly add warmth to the room.

Lastly, I love flowers and plants in my living space no matter what time of the year it is. Flowers, succulents, house plants – any of these things liven up a space and make it look more home-y.

I really enjoyed curating this list of interior pieces and styles I’m loving. What are some interior styles you get inspiration from?
