    Getting Ready for Fall

Fall has quickly become my favorite season in the past few years. I don’t know why considering I associate fall with summer vacation being over and having to go back to work. However, there’s just something about fall that I love. The crisp, cool air. Apple cider donuts. Breaking out the cozy sweaters. Oh and ushering in the holiday season, of course. Since I’m in a new space (my townhouse), I picked up a few fall decor things. I didn’t want to go overboard with decorating, plus I don’t have the money to! So it was just a few things. First, I got this super cute leaf candle holder from…

    Twilight Blue Writing Desk

I’m back with another home decor/furniture post. A desk wasn’t at the top of my list for furniture to get, but after the essentials that I needed to buy new (dining table, bedroom furniture, coffee table, kitchen cart, entry way table etc.) a desk was next on the list. A desk wasn’t something I needed urgently as I mostly work from my laptop on the couch and if I need to really sit I can sit at the dining table. I knew I needed one eventually so that I could have somewhere to put my cable modem, router, and a printer (when I buy one). So when I got back…

    Kitchen Cart

Today is the first day of school! As I write this (the night before), I am lamenting the fact that summer is officially over. There’s a little bit of excitement for a new year to start, meet my new students, and see old ones but that’s mixed with sadness that summer is over and dread of all the work ahead for me. Hopefully today’s a good day and leaves me feeling optimistic for the year ahead! In the meantime, today I’m writing about a home decor/furniture piece. As you know, I bought and moved in to a townhouse with my brother at the start of the summer. We bought a…

    Bedroom Vanity

Last week I shared my new bed¬†and today I’m sharing another bedroom piece – the Buttler Vanity Set. In my new bedroom I have a nice bay window looking out the back. Originally I wanted to put a comfy arm chair and ottoman there to enjoy the natural light and view. Somewhere I could cozy up and read or watch a movie on my TV when I didn’t want to have to sit on my bed. But then I decided that a vanity would be much more useful and I didn’t know how often I’d really sit in a chair there. I decided on the Buttler Vanity Set from Wayfair…

    Grafton Bed

As many of you know, I recently bought a townhouse with my brother and have been moving in, furnishing it, etc. While there were a few things we brought over that we already owned, a majority of the items in the house are brand new. My bedroom furniture is all new. While I don’t think talking about my new dresser and skinny chest of drawers is very interesting, I do plan to talk in a future post about my closet organization and new vanity. But the piece of furniture I’m talking about today is my new bed which I’m in love with! My bedroom furniture (minus the vanity which is…

    Townhouse Painting: Before & After

If you’ve been keeping up with my blog posts and Instastories then you know I recently bought a townhouse with my brother. I haven’t had a blog post dedicated to the topic, but I’ve mentioned it in a few posts so if you feel like you haven’t a clue then don’t worry you probably just missed it! In any case, we bought a townhouse and luckily the owners before us pretty much updated the whole interior when they bought it 4 years ago. It’s pretty modern inside with tile floors, granite countertops, and a sensored lighting system among other things. Despite the place being in pretty great condition, we knew…

    June 2018 Favorites

July already?! I can’t believe it. My summer break just started a few days ago and it’s already July! I’m going to keep my June favorites short and sweet today because I’m beyond exhausted and don’t have the energy to write a long, detailed post today. The combination of family visiting and moving is wearing me out! In any case, I have a few favorites this month (most of them just happen to be food) to share with you all! Let’s get to it – in no particular order. First up, I think one of the most annoying things is waiting forever in line at Starbucks. Sometimes it’s super quick,…

    Photo Challenge: Twisted

So happy today is Friday! This 4 day week hasn’t been too bad, but life has been so hectic lately that I will take any kind of break I can get. Today’s photo challenge response is sadly the last one! The Daily Post has decided to end their weekly challenges on WordPress, which is a bummer as I really enjoyed using the photo challenges as an excuse to take new photos and/or look through all my old ones to find a photo to use. I thought about finding new photo challenges to take part in as there are so many on the Internet I’m sure, but I think what I…

    Bohemian Dream: Moroccan Inspired Decor

Bohemian Dream: Moroccan Decor by lifeaccordingtojamie featuring white throw pillows   I’ve never been to Morocco, but I’d love to go one day. In the meantime, I can daydream about Moroccan vibes and bohemian inspired decor. When I think of bohemian/Moroccan decor, I think of rich textiles and tiles. For this living room, I chose a light purple blush colored chaise sofa because of the color and the fact that I’d love to be lounging on that right now! I added in some silk and textured pillows. The sofa would sit atop a diamond print Moroccan rug with a gold Moroccan side table with glass table top. Fresh flowers…

    Winter Interior Inspiration

I love looking at interior design posts on Instagram and Pinterest. If I were more creative, I think I’d really love a career in interior design. But I think I’m better at enjoying looking at them than putting it together myself. So when Chill Insurance¬†presented me with the opportunity to share some winter interior inspo I jumped at the chance to pull some things I’m loving. While I do enjoy when people post images of interiors that are modern and have clean lines, they’re not my personal style. I prefer a cozier, warm style. I want a space that I feel warm and comfortable in, not one that feels cold…
