#RoadTripsOfEurope

I love a good road trip. Do you? I think they can be a good time, especially if you are with a few others, but of course sometimes it gets tiring and you can’t wait to just get to your destination. That’s why road trips with fun stops along the way are the best option!

I think a summer road trip around Europe sounds absolutely amazing. Imagine driving through French countrysides with the windows down or down the Amalfi coast of Italy or through various countries. Sounds so dreamy! I don’t have a European vacation planned for this summer, but one can daydream right?

There are so many great road trip ideas in Europe. There’s the Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse in Austria that goes through the Austrian Alps.

Route 500 in Germany that goes through the Black Forest.

Route One in Iceland gives you a view of everything from geysers to volcanoes and lava fields to the Blue Lagoon.

The Ring of Kerry in Ireland circles the Iveragh Peninsula giving you unforgettable sights of Irish scenery.

Trollstigen in Norway translates to “Troll’s Path” in English and features steep inclines, hairpin bends, and is one of Europe’s most winding roads.

These are just some great ideas for a European road trip and there are countless others in more countries. I’d go on all of them! But if I had to choose just one right now, I’d choose Iceland. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Iceland and I’ve heard from friends and family that Route One or The Ring Road is super easy to navigate as you can use that one road to go around the country. After some research I read that theoretically you can drive the whole road in less than a day, but in spring and summer you should take a week because there are so many amazing sights along the road to stop at. In the winter take 2 weeks because of weather and road conditions.

Another reason I would choose Iceland is because they drive on the right side of the road and I really don’t think I could get used to having to drive on the left side! It would already be nerve wracking enough to drive around a different country, but then add in driving on the other side of the road and that would be make me really anxious! So let’s start nice and easy with the breathtaking sights of Iceland.

There are so many sights you can see from The Ring Road but also other short day trips like to the Blue Lagoon and The Golden Circle. Other sights you can see in the country while on your road trip are Vatnajokull (Iceland’s and Europe’s biggest glacier), Seljalandsfoss (a beautiful waterfall), Dyrholaey (cliffs by the sea with black sandy beaches), Jokulsarlon (a glacial lagoon), Diamond Beach (a coastline with chunks of ice), among many others.

And when you’re not stopping to take in the view and take hundreds of photos, who wouldn’t want to see sights like this:

I mean, it’s gorgeous during the day and possibly even more gorgeous at night! How many places can you say that about? And I mean naturally beautiful at night, not city lights and lit up structures.

Iceland looks amazing and I can’t wait to see it for myself one day. Getting a lucky glimpse of the Northern Lights too would be the icing on the cake!

Road trips can be so fun when you’ve got great places to see on the road, good friends to laugh with, and some music you can sing along to. But, we also have to remember that you want the car you take on these long road trips is up to scratch. Kwik Fit can help make sure your battery, tires, and brakes are ready for a long trip. Making the necessary checks before your trip is definitely the best thing to do rather than finding yourself stranded with a broken down car in the middle of your trip. Obviously, sometimes those things can’t be helped, but it’s a good idea to get everything checked out (and replaced if need be) before the trip!

Where would you love to road trip?
