Kat Von D – “White Out”

I’ve been a part of Influenster for a year or two now and it’s always so exciting getting picked to try out products. Recently I got a gift from Influenster which was so cool! They sent me the Kat Von D Studded Lipstick in the shade “White Out” which is exactly how it sounds – a white lipstick. Now, I’m not one to wear a really bold lip so there’s no way I’d wear white lips! But I immediately knew that I would use it to mix with bold shades to create lighter, more toned down looks. Sometimes I’ll get a set of lip products and there’s usually a shade or two in the mix that I know I just won’t wear. Usually because they’re too bright or dark or bold for me. I’m more of a neutrals girl. With these unused products sometimes I’ll give them away to friends I know will use and love them, but I do still end up with some that just sit in my closet.

So I decided to see what would happen if I mixed “White Out” with a bright red. I took the Lorac lipgloss in the shade “Red Rose” from the Beauty & the Beast collection and it turned in to a frosty pink. Much more wearable for me!

The white itself is pretty drying so if you were looking for a white lipstick to wear on it’s own, I don’t think this one is that great. But for my purposes it worked really well to mix with a gloss. I applied “White Out” all over my lips and then the lip gloss on top. It was a little messy but it was easy to clean up and the color ended up really pretty.
