American Home by Yankee Candle Fire Log
I, like many others, love the smell of a fire wood burning. Fireplaces are a love of mine and pretty much theΒ only good thing about camping is a camp fire. Back in the early fall Pine Mountain reached out to me and asked if I wanted to try out theirΒ American Home by Yankee Candle Fire Logs in the scent “Fresh Balsam Fir”. I, of course, said yes and thought the logs would be so great in my new fireplace in my townhouse.
Fast forward a few months and it’s finally cold enough to have the fireplace going. But, I decided not to light the logs in my own fireplace because I’d never used the fireplace there before and was afraid something would go terribly wrong and I’d end up burning my townhouse down. So, when I went to my parents’ house last weekend, I brought my box of fire logs along with me and used their fireplace to light one.
The logs are even better than I expected! They come individually wrapped and you only need 1 log. Loosen the paper a little, but don’t remove it. Set it on the grate in your fireplace and light it on the clearly marked arrows on the top seam. There were 3 or 4 arrows. And that’s it! That one log actually gave a pretty decent size fire and it lasted for way longer than I thought it would! The packaging says it’s a 3 hour log but mine lasted closer to 4 hours which is pretty impressive for a single log!
I’m really impressed by the fire logs and my parents were too. It’s so much more convenient than regular firewood and you only need 1 log instead of a stack of them to get the fire going. The only thing is that I didn’t notice it smelling particularly balsam-y. Which is good if you’re sensitive to scents, but bad if you bought these fully expecting your fire to remind you of Christmas trees. It’s possible I just wasn’t paying enough attention to the scent, but I feel like I’d notice if it smelled like balsam. Aside from that (and that’s not a real issue for me) I love these logs and highly recommend them!
