Peter Thomas Roth – Peptide 21 Collection
Happy Wednesday! For a split second yesterday morning I thought it was Wednesday, so that was a bit of a let down but it’s Wednesday for real today! I’m hoping the work day goes by smoothly and then I’ve got plans to hang out with the bff after work.
On to the topic for today’s post. You guys know I love trying out new skincare so I was excited when I got a package from Peter Thomas Roth and Influenster a few weeks ago. I was sent the new Peptide 21 Collection which includes the Amino Acid Exfoliating Peel Pads, the Wrinkle Resist Serum, and the Lift & Firm Moisturizer.
This new line is packed with 21 peptides (hence the name) and neuropeptides that target every area of your face and neck.
The Amino Acid Exfoliating Peel Pads are “designed to exfoliate skin to prepare it for treatment products, helping them to absorb better. They also help to reveal beautiful, healthier, younger-looking skin.”
Ingredients:
– 20% Exfoliating Complex of Phytic Acid, Salicylic Acid and Sodium Lactate: Exfoliates to help reveal beautiful, healthier, younger-looking skin.
– Chamomile and Green Tea: Help calm and soothe skin’s appearance.
– Vitamins A and E: Deliver antioxidant benefits.
The directions say to use 1-3 times a week depending on how your skin reacts to the pads and gradually increase to every day if desired. My skin can be sensitive so I’ve been using the pads twice a week and I haven’t noticed any adverse effects. In fact, I think they have made my skin softer and more even. To use, first wash your face and then gently wipe the pad all over your face. Wait 1-3 minutes and then wash your face to neutralize the peel. I feel a slight tingling when I use the pads before I wash my face which is normal.
After washing my face and using the peel (if it’s a peel day), I use the Wrinkle Resist Serum. The serum “helps visibly reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Gamma proteins harness the power of Asian natto gum, a breakthrough ingredient that helps improve the look of elasticity, radiance, uneven skin tone, and texture. This formula is also infused with squalane, a hyaluronic acid complex, and vitamins A, C, and E.”
Ingredients:
– 73% Peptide and Neuropeptide Complex: Helps to visibly reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles.
– Asian Natto Gum: Helps improve the look of elasticity, radiance, uneven skin tone and texture.
– Squalane: Helps hydrate.
The serum is pretty liquidy, but absorbs quickly and is comfortable on the skin. It’s a good thing this was sent to me because it is pretty pricy. It’s probably the most expensive thing I’ve ever put on my face at a whopping $110 a bottle!
Last, I put the Lift & Firm Moisturizer on. This moisturizer’s “formula helps improve the look of elasticity, radiance, uneven skin tone, and texture. Phytofleur™ Cactus, Squalane and a Hyaluronic Acid Complex hydrate the skin, while Trehalose helps to protect against future moisture loss.”
Ingredients:
– Peptide and Neuropeptide Complex: Helps to visibly lift and firm skin’s appearance.
– Asian Natto Gum: Helps improve the look of elasticity, radiance, uneven skin tone, and texture.
– Phytofleur™ Cactus: Helps to hydrate.
The moisturizer is really nice and, of course, moisturizing. It’s thicker than I had anticipated, especially coming out of a pump, but it’s nice without being too thick and heavy on the skin.
Overall, I’m really loving this line. Nothing feels heavy or thick on my face, but it’s all very moisturizing. I have been using the products for a few weeks now and I can tell that my skin is smoother and more even which is key for me because I deal with a lot of uneven texture and tones. I can’t say which product is responsible or most responsible for making my skin more hydrated and even since I’m using them all together, but I think it’s a great trio to have. Like I mentioned above, these are on the pricier side, but I honestly have been having such good results with them that I would splurge on them in the future.
Also, side note – the packaging is very nice, sturdy, and luxe. The bottles are heavy and feel like they’re ceramic. The container for the peel pads is actually lightweight and has a more plastic feel which could be due to how the wet pads need to be stored.
I highly recommend checking this line out!
*These products were sent to me complimentary, but all opinions are my own.*
