July/August TV Binging

I’m back with more shows I have finished/am currently binging during this extra time at home. This time it’s a mix of shows that are new, re-watches, and just new to me.

Also, I just took this photo the other evening after a long, hot, humid walk outside for some exercise. I had just got home and washed up and was cooling off on top of my bed, scrolling through my phone. I saw the sunlight streaming in on the wall and thought it looked kind of pretty and peaceful. It occurred to me as I was writing this that I could use it since you can see my bedroom tv in it so it sort of works for the purpose of this post.

Sunlight on Wall

1. Unsolved Mysteries

I saw a lot of people talking about Unsolved Mysteries on Instagram and decided to check it out after I was reassured that it wasn’t scary. I thought it would bother me a lot more than it did that all the cases are unsolved. I have hunches about some of the cases and the one about Patrice Endres I definitely think her husband killed her! Or else he’s just totally creepy talking about how he walked around the funeral home with her skull and slept with her ashes in the bed for a year. So weird.

2. The Babysitters Club

Totally different from Unsolved Mysteries but I wanted to check out the show since I used to love the movie from when I was a kid. I was never really into the books, but I liked the movie that Rachael Leigh Cook was in. I still remember Claudia studying for her science test by rapping. The show was cute and I loved that they addressed a lot of current issues.

3. Psych

I have been rewatching Psych on the new Peacock streaming. I’m using the free version so there are ads, but that doesn’t really bother me. 2 weeks ago the new movie came out, Psych 2: Lassie Come Home and since then I wanted to rewatch from the beginning so I’m in the middle of season 3 now (there are 8 seasons and 2 movies).

4. Veep

veep

Veep is a rewatch/first watch for me. I had seen the first season a long time ago and then kind of forgot about it so I started watching it again. It’s so funny and it makes me think that things like what happens on the show happen in the White House in real life today with the level of incompetency.

5. The Umbrella Academy

Umbrella Academy

I heard good things about The Umbrella Academy last year when it came out on Netflix but I didn’t watch it. Then, I started seeing the ads for season 2 which just came out 2 days ago so I thought now was a good time to start watching. I’m only a few episodes into season 1 so far, but I like it. It’s quirky and a little dark for a sort of superhero/superpower type show and there are so many mysteries that I just want to know the answers to!

So that’s what I’ve been watching the past few weeks. Anything new that you’ve been into?
