August 2018 Favorites

Can you believe it’s already September? I can’t! Even yesterday when it was the last day of August, it didn’t really hit me that it was the end of August. I have just a few favorites to share this month. I feel like I’ve been saying that a lot lately, but I think when you’re busy you just have less time to think about what you’re really loving lately.

First up, if you follow my blog and/or my social media accounts regularly then you know I spent the first half of August in Japan and Hong Kong. While in Japan we had pretty great weather, despite sweating to death in 100 degree heat and humidity. It didn’t start to get rainy until our last full day there (with a typhoon warning). In a little convenience store downstairs from our hotel in Tokyo, we bought rain jackets. These are the best disposable rain jackets ever! They were only $5 but are a thick plastic and not like those kind of ponchos we buy here that feel like garbage bags and are only good for 1 use. The jackets were so helpful during that last day in Tokyo and also in Hong Kong where it’s also typhoon season. The plastic is great quality, has a hood, and buttons up!

I talked about these flat form sandals on my Instagram Stories the other day. They are seriously the most comfortable shoe! The footbed is so soft and the velcro strap helps you make it fit your foot perfectly. I love the multicolor woven straps too! They are Teva and I got them from DSW.

While at Wegman’s, my favorite supermarket, last weekend I was browsing the cheese section. I saw the gouda section and I thought to myself that I haven’t had gouda in a really long time so I picked up a gouda that was new to me – Smoked Gouda with Bacon. It is so good and addictive! I had to stop myself from eating it all!

Second and last food favorite this month is an oldie but a goodie – Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Again, while at Wegman’s, I went down the cereal aisle to replenish my cereal containers in my pantry and decided to get Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I haven’t had it in a few years and I forgot how tasty it is and how good it makes the milk taste!

Lastly, it’s been a while since I’ve shared a favorite song on here. Not because there aren’t songs I like, but because lately I’ve found that by the end of the month the songs I couldn’t get enough of earlier in the month I’ve overplayed. But I’m still loving The Weeknd’s “Feel It Coming”. I listened to it so much while on vacation and on those 15 hour flights, but I’m still not tired of it!
