Blanket Shawl & Beach Sunset

I’ve had this blanket shawl for a few years, but always wanted to get better photos of it. My inspiration for this shoot with Lauren was a sort of boho sunset beach vibe with wind blown hair etc. The original day we were supposed to shoot together was supposed to be extremely windy and Lauren said very windy days by the beach didn’t make for good photos because people always look like they’re in the middle of a hurricane haha. So we rescheduled for a day that was supposed to be nicer and when we got to Sandy Hook Beach, it was so windy despite the forecast. It ended up working in our favor for these shots though, although it made it a lot colder.

I wore this southwest print blanket shawl with distressed jeans and a white tank top.

I love how these photos turned out! The lighting was perfect for this outfit, the ocean off in the background, the wind. This was the first time I’d seen the ocean since last March – literally the day before lockdown began. I felt a little emotional when I got that first glimpse of the ocean on my drive!
