Embellished Button Sweater Dress

Remember when I said I was really into the jeweled button trend and to expect to see it in a few more of my outfits in the upcoming weeks? Well, I’m back with embellished button outfit number 2.

Last week I shared my lavender cardigan with jeweled buttons. Today, I’m back with a black ribbed sweater dress with jeweled buttons. When I saw this dress on the Express website, I thought it looked so cute and I could always use more sweater dresses. Fast forward to me getting the dress. I like it, the fit is nice with the wide neckline and slightly large arms giving a dolman look. What I was surprised about when I got it is that it’s not really a sweater dress. It is long sleeves and comes to the knees, but it’s not that cozy, cotton/wool material that is so common for sweater dresses. Instead it is a ribbed dress that is made of rayon/nylon/spandex.

I wore the dress with black fleece lined tights and my embellished white chelsea boots to go out to dinner recently. I wore a lace trimmed camisole underneath since the neckline is a bit low and I like that bit of white lace peeking out.

I like the dress, but I definitely would’ve liked it even more if it was a cozy sweater dress material with the embellished buttons!
